does multicast work at all, even to multicast to a single client? Has it ever worked?

Are you getting the error message on the client at the end of the upload. Something along the lines of “could not move image …”

On your new fog server you need two .mntcheck files. Once goes in /images and the other in /images/dev.

Try an old kernel. Maybe a 2.6.28. Try compatibility check or debug mode?

On the Main/Primary/Master fog server, you define other storage nodes in the the storage group. When you define the new storage node, you need to supply the tftp username and password so that your main server can push image files to the other storage servers. The management username/tftp username is almost always “fog”. The management password is generated when you install the new server in “S” mode rather than “N” mode and is stored in the .fogsettings file on the new storage server.

If you open the .fogsettings on the storage node and get the password out, you can then log in to the webUI for the main fog server and define the new storage node using the Management username “fog” and password from the .fogsettings of the storage node.

I run 0.32 and have not been successful using the Single Partition (NTFS Only, Resizable) image type. I have been using Single Disk (Multiple Partitions) without issue.

Download the kernel from the sourceforge page you linked above. Backup your current kernel and then copy this one to the /tftpboot/fog/kernel directory. Rename it bzImage and chown to fog:root.

Try to boot up one of the new laptops and see how it works for you.

You need to enable DHCP Relay (IP Helper) in all your VLAN aware switches.

Were the new Dell Latitude E6430 laptops imaging fine in the past or is this the first time you’re trying to image them?

Are you unicasting or multicasting? Have you checked your /var/log/syslog for errors relating to fog?

When you say your started over with new everything, do you mean new client or new server?

Are you able to get a DHCP lease from a client machine on the same vlan/subnet as the DHCP server?

Does anyone else have an issue with google chrome not showing the kill task icon in the Active Tasks screen? I can’t for the life of me figure out why it’s not showing for me on my Windows or Mac computers. Safari, Firefox both show the icon, but chrome does not.

verify in Fog that the host you are trying to switch from XP to 7 has the correct image and Operating System associated with it. After that, we can delve deeper if needed.

It might be easiest to delete both instances of the host. then reregister it. The only way you can register the same physical host twice is to use a different MAC address. If a host exists with the same MAC address, Fog will not let you register it again. At least not from the boot menu task. I don’t know about the WebUI.

When you mouse over the image name, it shows the number is the status bar. Not a fix,but a quick way to find the image number.
