RE: Multicast deploy run slow...
You can try SVN version, but I think itâs a problem with the switchâŠ

RE: Multicast deploy run slow...
With 1.2 and svn I had these problems due to Cisco configuration, not a problem with FoG.
You canât compare Unicast and Multicast, they donât use the same protocole.
Do you have another model of 100Mb switch ?

RE: Multicast deploy run slow...
You can try to multicast 3 machines, to find the computer wich run slowly on multicast.

RE: Multicasting brings network to halt
Hi,
Do you have some vlan ? How many computer are connected on your network ?
In Cisco swith configuration you must add some option to optimize multicast.I run FoG on 20 vLan and arround 800 computers, and have not any problem when I multicast over 50/80 computers.

RE: Download task failed to create
So that leaves the questions of why the renaming of the temporary directory /images/dev/(MAC address) to /images/P8BMWES7 didnât happen automatically? And why when I made this change manually FOG still wonât download the image, but displays the red error box?
Actually I have the same problem during renaming /dev/mac_adress to /images/image_name⊠But no problem to download the image after manually move files into /image/image_name.
I donât understand why you have the error when you try to download it⊠sorry.
Are you sure that your rights are proper on the /images folder ? -

You can try this : http://fogproject.org/forum/threads/fog-ftp-login-failed.11787/#post-37394

RE: Download task failed to create
Okay, I created that /images/P8BMWES7 directory manually, and copied the image files into it. Then I updated the image entry in the Fog web UI with the new path, and tried to set up the download again. Same result Iâm afraid.
Could you post a screenshot of your image page and host page ?

RE: Download task failed to create
Hi,
Your image must be in the /images/P8BMWES7 folder not in /images/dev/10bf484ca18f. The last is a temporary folder for the upload task.

RE: Add iPerf to FoG
You can always add anything you want in the iPXE menu, to boot your DSL or any other linux from the network ;)
I know, but I think that a full integration in FoG is very usefull. The multicast speed depends of the slowest computer, identify the computer(s) wich is(are) slowest is very important

RE: IPXE infinity loop on Acer TM5760
Hi,
I have this problem on some HP computers (Family series), and canât resolve it. I think itâs like a secureboot but I canât disable it.

Add iPerf to FoG
Hi,
I use iPerf to perform bandwith test before deploy image with multicast (Because I have a lot of switchs and problem on some ports). I use an USB key with DSL on each machine to test the bandwith.
Is that possible to Add iPerf in iPXE menu ?
The idea is to have iPerf (Server) on FoG server, iPerf (client) on the iPXE menu, and configuration menu in the web interface (Server, Bandwith, during time test, âŠ).
Itâs really usefull tool.
Have you connected to the node/server thatâs not moving the files via FTP?
As the FTP user, were you able to copy move the files where necessary.
With a ftp client I have no problem to move the files.
