Problem with Dell Optiplex 5040
-
Hi.
I have a problem when I try to deploy an image to a Dell Optiplex 5040. It is a image made on a Dell Optiplex 5040. But when I try to deploy this image to a new computer I got an error, Can not find a disk on system. Dell has Win10 installed. Maybe it can be some problems with the system Dell is using for their harddrive (SSD)? -
I typically see similar issues when the Drive is being presented as RAID vs. AHCI/IDE.
I might say look at the bios to see if the “raid” type is defined.
Of course you could also try getting us more information by trying to perform a debug session and gathering some pieces of information. This may be as simple as the means to how we’re enabling FOG to see HDD’s.

Made a new upload task, but before confirming the task, I check the box for “Schedule as debug”
I boot the system.
It drop me to a terminal prompt.
Run:
fixparts /dev/nvme0n1Error: This disk appears to be a GTP disk.

@rbotn so this is a M.2 SSD drive, correct? was the original one you created the image on also the same style of drive?
-
I’m totally lost why you were running
fixparts <device>
This would only work if you changed a GPT partition layout to an MBR partition layout using Windows tools.
This still sounds, to me, like the way the disk is being presented to FOG is unrecognizable. Of course a lot more information should be told to us.
For example, if you’re running FOG 1.2.0, NVME drives were not supported. What version of FOG are you running?

Some posts showing FOG is capable of using these particular machines, but the users are using new versions (beyond 1.2.0) of FOG.
