      Hi there.

I’ve got the brilliant idea to put the “Upload” -button from “basic tasks” under the “Advanced tasks” -menu.

Also I had the idea to create some more noob-proof icons for the deployment button and the upload button. They pretty much look the same and are therefor easy to be mistaken for each other.

The picture I have made in Visio is probably not that great as I imagined. Any suggestions are welcome.

Thanks a billion for letting me use this great product!!! It has already saved sooo much time for me!

cool ideas. I hadn’t thought about moving the upload to advanced tasks, but that would prevent some people that are either click-happy or just not paying attention from wiping out their images with junk.

Being that Fog is meant for system admins and technicians, I think the hope is that the users would be careful enough to read and make sure they are clicking the correct button and would learn from the first mistake the high cost of being click happy.

True that! I’m thinking it’s better to prevent these sort of things than to let people get themselves “in danger” because of their minor handicap. Haha! 😉

            InjecTioN:

I’m OK with the .32 images and where they are, but I see your point. It wouldn’t hurt if the links below the images (“Deploy” and “Upload”) were more clear:

“Deploy to machineName” <-- FOG can easily pull the hostname value from the db and insert it.
            “Upload to server”

Or something like that. If we have to use one word, I personally prefer “Pull” and “Push”.

With hooks you will be able to remove any columns you don’t like in tables.

There are lots of changes in 0.33. You will be able to move ‘Upload’ into the advanced menu by altering it’s row in the database.

I have created a new “Task Types” object that will allow you to create other “Tasks” w/ custom code etc

I believe you could use the language files to alter the words “Upload” and “Download”

After 0.33, i want to look at recreating various sections. i.e. deploy will use javascript with real time feedback of progress.

So many ideas, so little time.

I think it needs FACEBOOK integration!

Wow! Thanks for the “preview” of .33! I can’t wait to use the new features! Makes it a hell of a lot easier for all the inexperienced interns I’m having over. 😉

                    Thanks again!

There is a lot of “behind the scenes” changes that will make 0.33 easier to work with, most i haven’t written about. It’s all there in SVN for previewing 🙂
