DescriptionI used GIT to download the latest FOG Version 1.3.5.RC10 and it quits during installation: - Downloading inits, kernels, and the fog client…Failed!
I rebooted the server and checked network connectivity and everything appears to be fine. Tried doing the upgrade several times but it continues to fail at that particular step.

Not a fog problem. Github is currently having issues. It’s failing to download the Client files from github.
-
To complete installation run: ./installfog.sh -yXit will take a bit but it will continue.
-
@Tom-Elliott AWS is having problems. https://status.aws.amazon.com/

Hi Tom, I tried the installation with the suggested switches: ./installfog.sh -yX The installation took a bit of time but completed. Thanks!
-
Bad timing for me too. Thanks for the info

This all makes sense now. We were affected heavily at work two days ago too due to the quite large Amazon outtage. And I couldn’t use git 2 days ago at home. This means github probably uses AWS for something-or-another.

It’s not a “probably” it’s a definite. The github source code stuff is separate, but the places it uses to download the binary packages attached to release files is directly of aws s3.
