      Server
      • FOG Version: 1.3.5 RC10
      • OS: Centos 7
      Client
      • Service Version:
      • OS:
      Description

I used GIT to download the latest FOG Version 1.3.5.RC10 and it quits during installation:

      • Downloading inits, kernels, and the fog client…Failed!

I rebooted the server and checked network connectivity and everything appears to be fine. Tried doing the upgrade several times but it continues to fail at that particular step.

        Not a fog problem.

Github is currently having issues. It’s failing to download the Client files from github.

Web GUI issue? Please check apache error (debian/ubuntu: /var/log/apache2/error.log, centos/fedora/rhel: /var/log/httpd/error_log) and php-fpm log (/var/log/php*-fpm.log)

          To complete installation run:

          ./installfog.sh -yX

it will take a bit but it will continue.

              Hi Tom,

I tried the installation with the suggested switches:

              ./installfog.sh -yX

The installation took a bit of time but completed. Thanks!

This all makes sense now. We were affected heavily at work two days ago too due to the quite large Amazon outtage. And I couldn’t use git 2 days ago at home. This means github probably uses AWS for something-or-another.

                    It’s not a “probably” it’s a definite.

The github source code stuff is separate, but the places it uses to download the binary packages attached to release files is directly of aws s3.
