I already track this information, kind of, but I don’t display it, mainly because there’s a lot of data already incorporated. I’ll see what I can do though.
-
@Tom-Elliott Awesome, thank you!
-
Working branch now has this added.
-
I wonder if we could ask the partclone folks to accept a custom message as an argument to just display in the partclone window?
-
@Wayne-Workman Not necessary. I could patch it in, but I’m not going to. Playing in C is not my forte unfortunately. While I could do it, ultimately I think it’s safer to let the lion sleep.

Just wanted to show what it looks like now:
The “Working with node” is the part I think you were requesting. This, theoretically, should also show up in the “search” element too. So “searching” for the complete tasks should show the node it worked with. Searching cancelled will likely show what it might have used, but since it was cancelled this is less important.
-
@Tom-Elliott Maybe just shorten it to “Storage Node” or just “Node”.
-
@Tom-Elliott the easy way to accomplish that would be to have our fifo named after a variable instead of always naming it /tmp/pigz1. that way partclone could say “Starting to clone device (/dev/sda2) to image (/Default)” or “Starting to clone device (/dev/sda2) to image (/fogstorage)” instead. of course, that “easy way” may have more complications than it’s worth (like paths that already exist in FOS)
-
Or we could just ask the PartClone folks to create another argument for a custom display message… I’m going to go do that now.
-
I did ask the partclone people for a custom message argument to be added to partclone, they responded yesterday. They said they are currently working on release 0.3.x and once this is done, they can look into this feature request.

@Wayne-Workman said in Image pulling location displayed:

Lovely

Apparently with 0.2.88 (maybe earlier but before that for us was 0.2.69) they added a “note” feature
The picture shows the (note:) line now which shows the Storage location and the Image name.
