@Cavender i guess the scope of the bug is bigger than what was initially reported.

Anything special about your boot menu? Is this all hosts? What boot ROM are you using for dhcp option 067?

@Wayne-Workman said in ipxe login loop after upgrading to latest trunk:

Anything special about your boot menu

The main boot menu is unmodified. Yes on all hosts. The fog server is on an isolated network and it serves hdcp.

@Cavender please update. I don’t know if it will fix the issue for you, but I did fix the “hide menu” issue. I found another issue as well that should be well corrected for now.

Web GUI issue? Please check apache error (debian/ubuntu: /var/log/apache2/error.log, centos/fedora/rhel: /var/log/httpd/error_log) and php-fpm log (/var/log/php*-fpm.log)

@Tom-Elliott 8062 fixes the loop, thank you! The menu still prompts for login with “hide menu” disabled. Just to verify, the “hide menu” is the “menu_hidden” toggle in “boot settings” right? Another thing I noticed is that with 8060 and 8062 “install/update your database schema” did not happen when opening the web interface for the first time after each update.

@Cavender schema updates don’t have to occur every update, so this is ok.

Can you show me the browser output of http://ipoffog/fog/service/ipxe/boot.php

@Cavender this appears, to me, to indicate hidden menu is enabled.

I imagine this is now fixed, but please let us know and feel free to mark this as unsolved in the case it is not fixed for you after you update.

@Tom-Elliott said in ipxe login loop after upgrading to latest trunk:

The main menu still prompts for login. This install has been updated many times since an early 1.2 so I decided to start fresh. The main menu still prompts for login and the quick registration and imaging says “no such file or directory”. The advanced menu side works great. Is this problem in my database at that point? What info / logs can I get to you to diagnose?

@Cavender I need to see the db to try to understand why it thinks there’s a hidden menu.

That said, the “login loop” issue (itself) should be fixed. I’m solving this thread. Would you mind opening a new one in regards to the fact that it thinks it’s in hidden menu when it’s not?
