    Ubuntu 14.04
    Fog 0.32

    I’ve tried just about everything with no luck to get a single image to upload. I’ve had a bunch of troubles with getting it to this point, but I refuse to give up. Anyways, could someone help direct me somewhere to look either to a log file of some sort or post that someone else has made? I’ve changed permissions, restarted services and altered config files. I can provide any log files/screenshots necessary to help.

      @Data31337 Is this a new installation?

      Please help us build the FOG community with everyone involved. It's not just about coding - way more we need people to test things, update documentation and most importantly work on uniting the community of people enjoying and working on FOG!

        I installed it roughly about a week ago and have been working with it ever since to get the Web UI working and the individual errors corrected. Other than that, it is a fresh install. I have installed ufw & ssh to it.

          ufw might cause you head aces. Best to disable it for now till you get to know FOG and make things work.

          What Wayne is asking you is if you are seriously trying to get FOG version 0.32 to install. While this is still possibly I suppose, this version is somewhat dated and you should definitely look into FOG 1.2.0 or even go for the development version called FOG trunk. Please read through the wiki and forums on how to install FOG trunk. Lots and lots of improvements…

          Please tell us how you got the idea to start with 0.32? I think we as the FOG team should try to get rid of all those old references on the web. I am not willing to support this old version anymore other than for people who have it running since it came out.

          Web GUI issue? Please check apache error (debian/ubuntu: /var/log/apache2/error.log, centos/fedora/rhel: /var/log/httpd/error_log) and php-fpm log (/var/log/php*-fpm.log)

            @Sebastian-Roth Pardon, I have updated it through the Web UI to 1.2.0. I used the online reference guide in your wiki to get started with. I can always try uninstalling and reinstalling completely with 1.2.0. I actually wasn’t aware it was updated that much.

              Probably best to just set it up from scratch again. Not because it’s screwed but because more often than not you can learn something by re-doing things. I’d still suggest going for FOG trunk as it does support win10, GPT, new hardware and things like that way more than 1.2.0 does.

                Amen to that. I learned Linux basics and the finer capabilities of FOG from rebuilding from scratch. Most people who use FOG seem to inherit an old installation from the last regime, myself included. I tried to fix what was there but it was poorly set up and unstable. It took some convincing and getting my hands dirty but I am on Trunk and loving it.

                Like open source community computing? Why not do it for a good cause?

                  I took your suggestion and have tried doing a clean install to development version through SVN and now I keep running into the issue with Backing up database…failed! We dont have a proxy (saw the post that someone else ran into the problem) and am going to try again with a fresh install of 14.04 with nothing extra installed but SSH. I’m wondering if its suggested that I keep trying with the development version (FOG Trunk) or try with the 1.2.0. Thing is, every-time I do a fresh install I have to get a hold of our VM Administrator and bother him to reinstall it, which isn’t hard, but pulls him away from other tasks.

                  Also, I appreciate your help with this Sebastian.

                    @Data31337 With FOG trunk you have install error log files in forproject/bin/error_logs… Please take a look and post the last 20 lines if you can’t find the issue yourself. If it fails on DB backup you should usually see an error in the apache error logs. See my signature on where to find the logs.

                    You don’t need to reinstall you Ubuntu system all the time if you stick to the trunk version for now. No need to bother you VM admin. Just try to fix things and re-run the installer. As well you can easily update to a newer version without having to start from scratch. Note down the things you fixed and where to find logs and stuff. Then when you feel you got it all fine you can still get back to your VM admin, get a fresh one and pull up a clean new system then.
