I think the client stuff just needed to update itself… and I didn’t allow the source machine enough time to do that…

            I’m re-making a new image and will try again…

              So, I uploaded a new image, then made sure the Encrypted password strings were right for AD joining, made sure AD joining was checked for that client, imaged it with the new image…

              And it did not auto-join the domain.

              I will have to check with a previous image that I KNOW beyond doubt is good and see if domain joining works…

              This will let me know if it’s the image, or the FOG version…

                Do you know what revision is this still 3218? Can you try upgrading and seeing if I fixed something that I am unaware of being broken potentially?

                    So, I tested another model with a known-good image and it joined the domain just fine…

                      Reinstalled the FOG client totally on this problem device. Re-uploaded a new image… Made sure “Join AD” was enabled. Deployed the image back to the system… no domain join…

                        Tom helped me.

                        I did this in my browser for the problem computer:
http://10.2.1.10/fog/service/hostname.php?mac=<macaddresshere>
and found that the ADPass was really, really, really long, and therefore really, really, really wrong.

                        I ran that same address for a working computer and found that the ADPass was correct.

                        So, in the database on the FOG server, Tom had me do this:
mysql -u root fog

update hosts set hostADPass=‘<yourgoodpassword>’ where hostADPass !=‘<yourgoodpassword>’;
This affected the exact number of computers in this particular computer lab. Tom thinks it’s solved now. I’m testing it at the moment.
