now that you’ve updated fog, try uploading the image again.

  • My images upload is bundle Dell Precision T3500 - windows 7 sp1 - multi partitions on single disk. My download procedure are :

Step 1: Add MAC to Fog Server
Step 2: Create Download - Debug Mode
    Step 3: Fdisk /dev/sda
Step 4: delete all partitions and create 1 primary partition
    Step 5: mkntfs -Q /dev/sda1
    Step 6: fixparts /dev/sda1
Step 7: fog - begin download procedure
Go through many step and result Done
    At "No Extended partitions…
BUMP - An error has been detected

    Fails to read back partitions.

    Surrender.

do you have extended/logical partitions or just primary ones??

FOG saves the complete partition table and restores it to the new hard drive on download task. Creating partitions and formating is not needed! But yes, I’ve also heard about people having issues with that at times. If you are keen you can try digging into customizing your init.xz and see if you can locate the problem. I guess it will be very hard for us to find a solution as we don’t have your setup here for testing purposes.

By the way, do you have extended/logical partitions or just primary ones??
That’s exactly what i do because the disk need delete all partion before download image start without errors

  • Have you considered using Darik’s Boot And Nuke to zero the drive?

The Dell Precision T3500 is listed in FOG’s working hardware list…

I think your problem is partitioning related.

Could you read through this and give it a go? http://fogproject.org/forum/threads/quick-format-to-ntfs-with-fog-for-noobs.10349/

Also, if you find those instructions to be too confusing, you can optionally use a Windows XP disk JUST to delete all the partitions on the problem computer, and then remake 1 partition, and then format.

By default, when the WinXP disk finishes formatting, it begins copying files. That’s fine; when it starts copying files, just take the disk out and turn the computer off, then retry imaging with FOG.

  • Image is Windows 7. If you don’t press ENTER, it can’t reimage next partition and will be stuck on it

Imaging to a blank hard drive is a known issue. FOG expects some sort of partition to be present.

As far as pressing ENTER to continue for each partition, I’ve never heard of that problem.

If you press ENTER when it asks, does it eventually complete?

I was looking at this thread: http://fogproject.org/forum/threads/cant-mout-image-folder-and-images-folder.12150/#post-40215
and the “Press ENTER to continue” problem there sounds a lot like the issue you are having.

What OS are you trying to image? Windows 8 ? Windows 7 ? Vista? XP ?

  • Fog’s version is 1.2.0 and upgraded trunk to 3152.

    Linux OS is CentOS 6.6

What version of Fog, what distribution of Linux & version?
