Snapin Tools
-
Back in the day, I used to use a software that would take snapshots for before and after an install had taken place, It would compare the changes, then create an executable that would allow those changes to be made on another machine(s).
Does any one know if a tool that still does this?

Install rite
-
It appears to be discontinued… had to find it though a mirror

For the most part, I never used Install rite. Most installers have silent or passive modes. Those that don’t you can usually find an ‘enterprise’ version of it online which has those switched.
-
There is custom software developed in house that i need to develop installers for.

You could use NSIS to make the installer

that’ll do it, but it’s not free. They have 3 different versions. The pro version will record all changes except for services and drivers. The enterprise version does everything.
IMO, it’s not worth two cents unless you get the enterprise version. Their “Pro” version of the software used to deploy Java with custom settings has caused me nothing but nightmares.
