      I have just migrated onto a new FOG 1.2.0 server and everything seems to work except for deploying images. Whenever I try I’m getting the following error;

      Send method … NFS
      Attempting to send inventory … Done
      Checking in … Done
      Mounting File System … Failed

      mount:mounting <x.x.x.x>:/images/ on /images failed: Operation not supported

      The images folder on the server is chmod 777, as are all of the contents of that folder. The image is imported from 0.32 and has been marked as partimage within Fog.

      Build is on Fedora 21 with Fog running the latest available 64-bit Kernel. selinux and firewall are disabled.

      Obviously the client is talking to the server but I cannot get it to image.

        Two things to check under the image select os type it is no longer part of the host record and under image also select storage group.

        RTFM

          I have managed to resolve this issue. Probable cause was either;

          1. restart of nfs service
          2. Time was out by 1 hour.
          3. Ran CNTLM to enable NTLM authentication.

          I have successfully imaged the machine once. But now I can’t image it again. I wiped the drive and now whenever I image the screen flashes past without any indication of error and reboots the machine. No idea what’s happening as I can’t pause the text and it disappears too fast to read anything. Any idea how to capture the text so I can find out what it thinks it’s doing?

            Good to see that Fedora 21 & FOG are getting along well, even with 1.2.0

            Use a smart phone and just record the process with video. Later, you can just pause it and read what it says.

              when you wiped the drive does it still have an mbr fog expects a format drive and errors on a raw blank.

                That sounds like a good feature request to me…

                  That feature request (I’m guessing requesting if the drive can be initialized more properly) has been established already in svn.

                  It’s probably not 100%, but from what I can tell it does work. It even tries to detect if the disk is MBR with gpt remnants now too and will attempt fixing these remnants for you.

                    It seems to be working now. Not sure why it failed. Good idea with the phone. If it happens again I’ll submit another post but this one seems to be resolved.

                      I have an ISO image of DBAN on the server to make sure that the drive is properly wiped.
