Hello Everyone,
Thanks for the continued interest in the FOG VM. It is still available to share.
When I say in my original post that “[SIZE=2]If anyone is interested in the download link, please PM me and I will share”, it means that unless you PM me, I won’t see the request[/SIZE]… Especially on a thread this old. [SIZE=2]Everyone who has PM’d me to date has received the download instructions. If you are still interested in downloading the VM, PM ME. [/SIZE]
[SIZE=2][SIZE=2]And please, for the sake of your sanity, READ everything. If you missed my instructions to PM, chances are that if FOG isn’t working for you, it’s probably telling you exactly why[/SIZE]…[SIZE=2] Read your logs!![/SIZE][/SIZE]
That being said, I love to help with FOG issues (as much as I can, I’m not a developer or expert or anything). If you need help, reach out! This forum is also a gold mine for FOG help…

Debian or CentOS base or even FreeBSD?

I lean towards Fedora or RedHat.
FOG was originally developed on Fedora… and I use Fedora… so that’s why I lean towards that.
Optimally though, RedHat would probably be the best choice simply due to it’s longevity, wide-use, and large development and support base.

@Riggie8 This thread has been long abandon. Its much easier now to spin up a new linux server and then install FOG on it. We can guide you if you need.

This thread has certainly not been abandoned… A lot of members have messaged me for the link and I’ve continued to share it!
It’s quite easy to spin up a new server and install a clean FOG, I agree. But some people have trouble or are not comfortable with working in the LINUX CLI. And to that end, I continue to offer the VM for all who are interested.
I’m also working on a new VM with v. 1.4 installed, hopefully I’ll have that in the next week or two.
As always, I’m available to share the bit that I know with all.

But think about switching the distro, ubuntu has been a pain and the life time is short.
