Fog 0.33b Snappin deployment
-
I cannot get any snappins to deploy, the pc just keeps rebooting. When I check the fog.log file on the client pc:
TaskReboot A task was found for this client, computer will restart shortly.
Go to the Host screen. Go to the Host Service Settings. Uncheck TaskReboot and update. You should be good after that. What revision 0.33b are you on?
-
how would one check?

Greg, If you’ve downloaded through svn, perform an update and reinstall. I found a bunch of issues and corrected them. Currently we’re on 1150, but I’m guessing you’re a few revisions behind.

Tom, I installed through SVN following these instructions, but the problem persists. I also check the host settings and the reboot option is unchecked. Thanks.
-
Do you update SVN to the most current?
-
yes.
At revision 1151
-
Do you have tasks awaiting action?
-
yes, I have about 5 snapins in the queue.

no, just snapins.

I’ll take a look. I think I disabled task reboot on my fog server (globally) and all seemed to work much more betterer.

I did the same, and i am still having the reboot issue, strange…

Do me a favor, update to r1152. I added an element to jobs.php service function that checks if the job is valid and is not a snapin deployment reboot, otherwise there’s no jobs to perform. The original method was, if the tasking is valid, reboot the system so hopefully this will help you out.

Scratch that last… It is not rebooting anymore Tom. But it will not install the snapins unless I log in.
-
do you still want me to update SVN?
-
Yes please, and reenable task reboot. It’ll help be debug this issue. Also, It’s correct that it won’t install unless you’re logged in. The administrator access needs to be there. I don’t have the source to rebuild the dll’s in use so that particular issue is still the case.

I have imaged this computer 3 times today before making updates.
any thoughts?
