Hey guys I’m having trouble understanding what arguments to use when deploy certain EXEs, MSIs are pretty straight forward since they have a template. I know that Snapin Packs have EXE template but they don’t add any arguments. Where do I find arguments I can use and how to know when to apply each of them. Is there a universal list of arguments that can be used?
Thanks in advanced FOG has really helped me out and my school campus.

Just for clarity here (because I’m a little confused on what you are asking). The .EXE’s you deploy may or may not take arguments. In regards to FOG the arguments you want to send still go into the “Snapin Pack Arguments” field. The developer of the .EXE has all of the control on what command line arguments they will accept. FOG can only pass what is in the “Snapin Pack Arguments” field when invoking the snapin.

For example if you have just a simple .exe that take parameters it would look something like this (using no preconstructed template)

If I misunderstood what you are asking, please clarify.

@tesparza unfortunately exe arguments are not standard, and so that’s why we don’t have argument templates. Your best bet is to search for your programs name followed by “install arguments” or “silent install”. For example if you had an exe for Firefox and you wanted to find the arguments you would search “Firefox silent install arguments”.

In general, usually /s or /S would enter a silent install, but that’s not guaranteed.

@joe-schmitt @george1421 I got you I’ll search like that from now on. I just thought it was something universal but now I understand. Thanks will keep doing the search. Thanks guys. Trail and error. You can mark the question solved

@tesparza What application are you trying to deploy? Searching on http://www.itninja.com/ usually gives me answers to silent application deployments.
