      Hi all,

I have built an updated FOG VM for VirtualBox, available for download. It runs Ubuntu Server 14, a recent FOG trunk version, and a custom setup script to configure your network settings. I hope it’s helpful to those who want to try out FOG and are a little less than LINUX proficient.

If you’re interested in downloading, send me a PM and I will reply with the link.

Thanks again to the developers for their continued efforts on the project, looking forward to seeing what’s coming in future releases!

@jazzchamp While I don’t have a solution for you, I am interested in what virtualization infrastructure are you using?

Unfortunately I feel this offer has been abandoned. Your best bet is to create a vritual machine and install linux (either Centos 7 or Ubuntu 14.04) and then install the trunk version of FOG.

Wayne has some pretty good videos here on installing fog as well as there are links to show how to install linux.

@zone67 it doesn’t quite work like that. People have been nice and I’m not saying they won’t have it. But please understand the VM method isn’t really any easier than just creating your own vm and installing fog on it. Logistically it isn’t a feasible method. That’s not to say nobody can get you one.

IMHO spinning up a fog server from scratch takes out a lot of variables that may cause issues. The install script for FOG is quite streamlined these days. Though I am a vmware user, I find that templates and pre-builts save you literally just a few minutes at the cost of many potential issues, especially since network environments vary so much.

Like open source community computing? Why not do it for a good cause?
