    Hi,
I have a problem with an HP Probook 650 G2 with intel l219 nic card. I am getting an error message unable to register host for the following reason and the screen become blank. I did some research on the forum and google and the solution seems to change the boot kernel. I am not sure wich boot kernel version i have. (I don’t know how to get it!) If i run the command uname -r it says 3.16.0-62-generic. Is this it? In the FOG configuration panel of my server I am now able to download another kernel version, but it says Download complete transfering file to TFTP server. (For the last 2 hours!) Is that normal? Also can anyone confirm that Kernel below will solve my problem? If not which version should i try?

    Kernel - 4.1.0 TomElliott

    Date : July 22, 2015

    Version : 4.1.0

    FOG Type: TomElliott

    Arch Type: (x86_64)

    Thank you πŸ™‚

If you are on the version of fog that is 1.2.0 stable, you are out of luck. The first recommendation is to update to the latest trunk version (i.e. pre 1.3.0) I can tell you that nic is part of the trunk version. Plus the trunk version handles efi and gpt disks much (MUCH) better than 1.2.0 does.

So if you can afford a little instability (as with a beta build, understanding its been in beta for about 6 months) I would recommend you upgrade first. Then if you have issues please post back because the devs are really active here and love to dig into new hardware with weird network issues. πŸ˜‘

@sfayle On the management console, there is a cloud in the upper left side. On that cloud there are numbers. What are the numbers?

[Edit] To answer your question: https://wiki.fogproject.org/wiki/index.php/Upgrade_to_trunk
The idea is to use the above link instructions to download the latest installer files, then run the installer again to upgrade your 1.2.0 stable version of fog to a (1.3.0 beta release). Understand that once you go to the trunk build you can not go back to 1.2.0 stable. It is a one way street. But this way you will have the latest hardware support and imaging support [/Edit]

I’m also showing that probook could have the intel I217LM/V or I218LM gigabit adapters, depending on the model.

              Hi all,
I would like to thank you all for your help. I installed the latest trunk and i am able to inventory and install the image on it. Hopefully i will not be getting to many bugs from now on. πŸ™‚

I might suggest that if you have a stable build, stay on that until the official release is set, or you run into a bug that has been fixed. Right now the developers are working on getting some of the new hardware to register correctly in FOG. So if you don’t have brand new hardware you should be ok.

Well, I’d suggest updating to the latest version on a daily or maybe weekly basis! Because we need you people to find the bugs so we can figure out a solution and fix them!! Otherwise mean bugs might be in the release and people will run into them later. Sure not everyone is keen to do that but we need you!

Web GUI issue? Please check apache error (debian/ubuntu: /var/log/apache2/error.log, centos/fedora/rhel: /var/log/httpd/error_log) and php-fpm log (/var/log/php*-fpm.log)

Please support FOG if you like it: https://wiki.fogproject.org/wiki/index.php/Support_FOG
