The fog storage node is running Ubuntu 12.04. I have passed ownership of the Images folder from root to fog (my login). The password and username match that on the config section of the server GUI. However it still says that the fog node is unable to connect. You can see the technical specs of the machine but it will not allow images to be placed on it. Any advice? Thanks!

First thing to check is the ftp trouble shooting steps in the wiki.

@Atton Can you give us a screenshot or photograph of the error you’re seeing?

What is the /etc/vsftpd.conf show and what version of vsftpd are you running?

My guess is you need to add seccomp_sandbox=NO to your vsftpd.conf and restart vsftpd service.

I’m still getting the same error. I didn’t add the seccomp_sandbox=NO line to that config file because the main server worked without adding it. Do you think I should add that line to the main server as well?

@Tom-Elliott I added that line on both the server and node but still no luck.

And you have no errors pinging or running ftp commands on the storage node from the main fog server?

@Joseph-Hales When I try to connect using “ftp 10.58.X.X” I get an error saying connection refused. My ftp config matches that in the fog setup wiki

Check and make sure firewall is disabled?

@Joseph-Hales Firewall is disabled. I was thinking and when I set if up I used a different MySQL username and password. Let me try to change it and I’ll let you know what happens

If your ftp connection is refused then what you have is a firewall, connectivity issue, or the service is not running you need to go back to this https://wiki.fogproject.org/wiki/index.php/Troubleshoot_FTP until ftp is working.

@Joseph-Hales Ftp is running on one storage node but not the other or the server. I am looking at what I did to get one to work but not the others. I’ll keep tinkering. Thank you so much for all your help

@Atton Is the storage node running fog 1.2.0 ?

SSH into the storage node and try to FTP into it from itself. Try it’s IP first, if that doesn’t work then try 127.0.0.1.

Have you verified that FTP is running on the storage node?

@Wayne-Workman I have. I can open into ftp on any device to the one node but not the node or server. As far as I can tell all of the config files match.
