It’s possible to imaging you Windows Server 2012. It’s problably an hardware problem. You have to use the good ipxe file and kernel version, depanding your hardware. You can search into forums and wiki. In your /tftpboot folder you have some differents pxe file.

@titeufbe As @ch3i said, you may have hardware problems, especially if RAID is involved.

If there is no RAID involved, and you’re doing a 1:1 image to server ratio, then just use the “Windows 7” OS Type and all should be fine.

            it’s not a raid version
            it’s on a esxi (vmware)

i’m update/upgrade my kernel (official kernel) and my pxe file is undionly.kpxe

i have Ubuntu 10.04.4 LTS for fog project
and i have windows server 2012 for the dhcp

With this config fog work perfectly with windows 7
but with windows server 2012 it’s not possibility to back up a image or make a quick inventory

can i built a custom kernel for support the vmware driver/ network ?

            a video of my problem

thank if you have a solution for windows 2012

@titeufbe I’m imaging a windows 2012 server on vmware (esxi 5.5) without problem (at this time I’m on partclone image)

I have a Debian 7 with latest SVN of FOG.

Wich version of FOG are you use ?

I have successfully captured Windows Server 2012 R2 Update 1 from Hyper-V R2, generation 1 machine as of SVN 3504 using kernel 3.18.5 . Newer version kernels do not work; for me at least, I haven’t heard from anyone else.

This same capture was successfully deployed to a virtual machine running on VMWare ESXi 5.5 using SVN 3731 and kernel 3.0.1 .

Also - not sure how much it weights on the issue, but I’ve captured Windows Server 2012 R1 from an Optiplex 7010. I had installed it on our most common desktop just to use with testing, and be able to very quickly revert back to a clean install when we want.

This is server 2012, meaning esxi treats it like windows 8. You will need to use the 3.0.1 kernel.
