I am trying to reimage a machine with a new image. I pxe boot to Fog and I select either Full Registration or Quick Image the machine goes to a black screen with a blinking curse at the top. We just updated the SVN to 3504 and we are running 1.2.0.

From the webpage I see where the machine is queued, it seems to be hung. I have even changed the boot file from undionly.kpxe to undionly.kkpxe

Choose the “compatibility check” item from the menu, run all the items in there and see if it all looks good.

            Are you really on 3411?

            Can you update to 3511?

What’s in the /var/log/apache2/error.log (Ubuntu) or /var/log/httpd/error_log (Redhat)

Web GUI issue? Please check apache error (debian/ubuntu: /var/log/apache2/error.log, centos/fedora/rhel: /var/log/httpd/error_log) and php-fpm log (/var/log/php*-fpm.log)

                The same for me.

compatibility check fail on lan ok on disk with the kernel I have with the 1.2 version.

I try some other kernel but it’s worse. Kernel panic after choosing compatibility check.

                      Reinstall FOG using your installer.

                      Try again.

Please provide photos of the errors you are seeing.

I am also have an issue when I try to register a host. The bzimage and init both load and read “ok”, then the screen just turns blank with a blinking cursor in the top corner. Nothing happens after that.

I am currently using svn version 3510.

Sounds like something is wrong with recent Trunk versions.

Four different people here reporting the same issue.

Please try re-running the installer. It seems there was an issue this morning with Sourceforge that cause a 0 byte downloaded file.

I am re-downloading 3513 now to see if it fixes the issue… Not sure if this is related, but in the process of re-downloading FOG, it pauses at the following section for quite a while…like, almost 2 hours long.

                                  *Downloading kernels and inits . . .

Maybe it’s just a coincidence. Anyways, once this fully downloads and installs, I’ll report back the results.

Thanks again for all of the hard work the Devs and Moderators put in and thanks for the quick responses.

                                    Here’s is the update:

So I have successfully updated our FOG server to svn 3515 and the results are the same unfortunately…

I try to register a host and it loads the bzimage quickly, then pauses for a few ‘extra’ seconds on the init.xz, but then it also finally loads just fine. Then the screen goes black (or blank) with a blinking cursor in the upper left corner of the screen.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

                                      What’s the output of:

Can you try re-running the installer.

The “stall” is the bzImage files and inits are 0 size.

This will be like my 4th time re-running the installer. Is it possible to get direct download links to these files and I can manually go in and replace them myself?

If not, I can try to re-run the installer again.

Once again, I thank you for your time and support.
