Unable to Complete SmartInstaller.exe on MacOS Mojave 10.14.6
-
Hi folks-
I work for an state university and we’re testing out FOG as a potential cross platform imaging solution (Windows 10/Linux/MacOS).
We have installed and configured our FOG server on a virtual machine running CentOS. My colleague is working on creating our first Windows 10 image. He was able to successfully run the SmartInstaller on his machine, and has successfully captured an image.
I’m working on a iMac and a MacBook Pro. Both are running MacOS Mojave 10.14.16. I have installed the latest version of Mono on both machines, and have downloaded the SmartInstaller.exe file.
I am logged in as an administrator and have executed the command “sudo mono smartinstaller.exe.” When the installer runs, I supply the static IP for the FOG server, and the proper /fog root directory (which is the default in our case).
I get the following result:
The installer log gives the reason:
When I tried to navigate to the specified directory, I discovered that it does not exist.I know a similar problem has been identified here in the past. Is there a workaround for this? Almost all our Macs are on Mojave.
Any guidance would be appreciated. I’m pretty new to this, so I thank you in advance for your patience.
Grace and peace,
Chris -
@Christopher-Drew We started to work on this topic not long ago: https://forums.fogproject.org/topic/8803/trouble-installing-smartclient-on-macos-sierra
It’s just too many issues and too little developers helping out fixing stuff. I couldn’t keep up with this as other things came up more pressing.
Are you willing and keen to setup a fog-client development environment and help work on this?

@Christopher-Drew Are you still active in the forums? Would be great to actually have people around who can test things when I get to work on a fix.
