FOG Client constantly attempts to join the domain
-
Server
- FOG Version: 1.5.0 RC-9
- OS: Debian 8.6
Client
- Service Version: 0.11.12
- OS: Windows 10
Description
We have been seeing multiple PCs on the network reporting in with bad login attempts according to ADAudit, but upon closer inspection the problem clients have the following in the FOG log repeatedly and it matches the code found in the event viewer.
9/13/2017 11:39 AM Client-Info Client Version: 0.11.12 9/13/2017 11:39 AM Client-Info Client OS: Windows 9/13/2017 11:39 AM Client-Info Server Version: 1.5.0-RC-9 9/13/2017 11:39 AM Middleware::Response Success 9/13/2017 11:39 AM HostnameChanger Checking Product Key Activation 9/13/2017 11:39 AM HostnameChanger Already activated with correct key 9/13/2017 11:39 AM HostnameChanger Checking Hostname 9/13/2017 11:39 AM HostnameChanger Hostname is correct 9/13/2017 11:39 AM HostnameChanger Attempting to join domain 9/13/2017 11:39 AM HostnameChanger The machine is already joined to the domain, code = 2691
Disabling to force ad change while logged in has seemed to fix it, but I wanted to bring it up.

Was the machine already part of the domain when reimaged or something. If the machine thinks it is not joined and the Domain thinks it is (not deleted before imaging) it can cause this reaction I have seen in my environment.
-
@psycholiquid They were, but I don’t recall seeing this on any other machines. Not that I noticed at least. Maybe this has been here a while and I just now noticed it in the audit.

@themcv Well if they were reimaged and the computer was not removed from the domain first the workstation will sometimes still be able to talk to the domain (Shouldnt be able to but does)
I would delete it form the domain and drop the computer from the domain at the workstation and see if it resolves itself.
