Hi,
You need to enable FOG_FORMAT_FLAG_IN_GUI in General Settings and set image to partimage instead of partclone.
http://fogproject.org/forum/threads/this-is-not-partclone-image.11047/
      You should know they changed imaging engine (partclone - partimage)
      Update from 0.32 to latest should work.

      Taken from release notes from 1.0.0: http://fogproject.org/?q=node/21
PartImage has been deprecated. The default imaging engine is now partclone (all partimage images are supported
I recommend you to re-upload all the images!

      Hi,

      IRC Applet still not working, why isn’t that fixed after months?
      If not fixed an information which irc server/channel is used would be fine.

      I know it’s freenode and #fogimaging others may not!

      anyone interested in reviving the IRC Channel?
      I know the forum is the best place to keep recuring questions and good answers but maybe i can assist over irc for some german speaking users that may have problems with fog.

      I would also help others 😉

      Hi,

      FYI snapin client does not expand system variables, so don’t use them they don’t work:
Can confirm that the snapin client does not expand system variables. Adding this feature to my todo list with high priority. The reason is that the snapin client uses:
p.StartInfo.FileName = strRunWith;
instead of
p.StartInfo.FileName = Environment.ExpandEnvironmentVariables(strRunWith);
In the mean time you may just set the “Snapin Run With” to msiexec.exe, this will automatically find the file if it has been added to the system path, which windows does by default.
http://fogproject.org/forum/threads/fog-snapins-and-windows-system-variables.11288/#post-34657

      cscript is in path you should call cscript msiexec and so on. without any path

      To check what’s in PATH open a command prompt and type:
echo %path%
That will give you (normally) a list of directorys that are in path, that means every executable file that belongs to a path directly can be run without any path to the binary:
C:\Users\Administrator>echo %path%
      C:\Program Files\SFX-CreatoR;C:\Program Files (x86)\NVIDIA Corporation\PhysX\Com
      mon;C:\Program Files (x86)\Business Objects\Common\3.5\bin\NOTES;C:\Program Fil
      es (x86)\Business Objects\Common\3.5\bin\NOTES\DATA;C:\Windows\system32;C:\Wind
      ows;C:\Windows\System32\Wbem;C:\Windows\System32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0;C:\Prog
      ram Files\Calibre2;C:\Program Files (x86)\H-JTAG V0.4.0;C:\Program Files (x86)

    • RE: Windows 8.1 Imaging Guide?

      Hi,

      you can also integrate office updates into the installation,
      download needed update files, extract them and place the msu file in the office updates folder:

      To automate office installtion use config.xml
<Configuration Product=“ProPlusr”>
      <Display Level=“basic” CompletionNotice=“no” SuppressModal=“yes” AcceptEula=“yes” />
      <USERNAME Value=“Bla” />
      <COMPANYNAME Value=“Bla2” />
      <!-- <INSTALLLOCATION Value=“%programfiles%\Microsoft Office” /> -->
      <!-- <LIS CACHEACTION=“CacheOnly” /> -->
      <!-- <LIS SOURCELIST=“\server1\share\Office;\server2\share\Office” /> -->
      <!-- <DistributionPoint Location=“\server\share\Office” /> -->
      <!-- <OptionState Id=“OptionID” State=“absent” Children=“force” /> -->
      <!-- <Setting Id=“SETUP_REBOOT” Value=“IfNeeded” /> -->
      <!-- <Command Path=“%windir%\system32\msiexec.exe” Args=“/i \server\share\my.msi” QuietArg=“/q” ChainPosition=“after” Execute=“install” /> -->
      </Configuration>
It can happen that your office doesn’t have the admin folder then you cannot run setup.exe /admin,
      then you will need to download adm templates for the desired office version, extract them and place
      the admin folder in the office install folder, after that setup.exe /admin will work.

      Hi,

      this one is also fixed, my fog db was only accessible from 127.0.0.1 like that no additional storage node can connect fogs db, we changed mysql settings to make it accessible from anyone or in special only the storage node.

      @Tom you did the changes maybe you can go deeper with details?

    • RE: FOG Main Server cannot determine free storage from a fog storage node

      Hi,

      the Config.class.php is fine:

      fog main (db): 172.19.102.17
      additional storage node (s): 172.19.102.18

      The picture above is taken from 172.19.102.18
      It must be another problem.

      Also: Using the additional storage node is working fine, what is not working is the correct image size on server but that was also wrong with main node, it always shows around 2gb for image on server:

      And fog main does not show free space for additional storage node:

      I used the following informations from main fog (db) to configure the additional storage node:

    • Image Size on Server always ~2GB (Dashboard)

      Hi,

      something must be wrong with determining server size on the storage server fog always shows 2gb:

      When i check the storage node its bigger, no wonder!

      There is never a file matching the 2GB the server lists, so that must be a bug while determining size.

      Hi,

      i have installed an additional fog storage node (S) imaging and the rest is working but the main fog cannot determine the freespace on the storage node.

      I excepted this will work when using fog as storage node.
      I made some experiments with nfs and ftp without installing fog there i had the same problems but i thougth this will now work out of the box.
