• RE: SVN 3192 hangs
updated to SVN3200 but the problem remains…

      Configuring services.

      • Setting up and starting MySql…OK
      • Backing up user reports…OK
      • Setting up and starting Apache Web Server…OK
      • Changing permissions on apache log files…OK
      • Downloading kernels and inits…OK
      • Downloading New FOG Client file…Failed to get client version

      and breaks the installation…
Can you edit the script to just take that ONE line out, and do that part manually?

Do you plan on using the new client?

    • RE: SVN 3125 & Hyper-V 2012 R2

I haven’t updated to the latest revision of FOG in about a month.

Generally, I only update when Tom asks me to, LOL! Although I think that might change… I’m building FOG on Fedora 21 server at home, and I will stay bleeding edge with that for a while.

    • RE: TFTP isn't working

Does this file exist? What’s in it?
/etc/xinetd.d/tftp
What value does it have for server_args ? That’s the actual location of your tftp folder.

Can you try to change permissions on /tftpboot to 444 and try again? (Read only for everyone)
chmod -R 444 /tftpboot
After that, try restarting the service:
sudo service xinetd restart
Also, how valuable is this FOG install? Did you just build it? Does it have images on it? Are other things running on it? Is it a clean install? How many times have you ran the installer for FOG?

Also, when I get to work tomorrow, I’ll share my exact Hyper-V Virtual Switch settings here, along with my NIC bindings/bridging setup. I remember it being something of a headache to get working correctly…

Awesome, that info will help the developers look for a fix.

But still, can you tell us what the model of the laptop is? What’s the wired network chip set & model?
SVN 3198 still has this issue of the MAC not being added to the database.
How many Network interfaces does the computer have? Is it WiFi / Bluetooth / Wired ? Two wired NICs ?

What’s the model of device you’re working with?

      Easy to find out…
iptables -L
EDIT: Although he did say he disabled UFW.

      and I LOVE that feature!

      You’d be correct about that.

Not trying to sound harsh but, without knowing what OS you’re using (your install log would tell us that), I can’t provide the exact commands you would run for troubleshooting.

Check if the TFTP service is running. If you want specifics, we need specifics.

You might want to make sure Option 067 is correct, also. Generally, that should be set to undionly.kpxe

Oh. He’s referring to the original problem.

He’s looking for a fix so he doesn’t have to keep using that older kernel.

Are you creating the encrypted string on a Windows machine?

There’s a thread about it somewhere, but people were saying that the string comes out different if you compare ones built on different OSs… I’ll post that thread if I can find it…

    • RE: Optiplex 3020 TFTP Issue

Ask your networking guy to configure DHCP options 066 and 067 on the router’s DHCP service.

Then turn off DNSMASQ like Uncle Frank suggested… see what happens…

Are you using the new client, or the old one??

If you’ve got the old client in your environment, I’d recommend staying with the old one for now.
Enabling the new one somehow stops the old clients from working… I’m not a dev, I don’t exactly know why but that’s what I’ve read.

    • RE: Error Code 1326

Try to re-install the fog client on the host you want an image of.

Sometimes things get screwy here… I don’t know why, but others have said this has solved their issue.

Make sure you’re using the client from your FOG server’s web gui. There’s a link at the very bottom of the page after you log in.

I know this means taking a new image, but if it solves the problem it’ll be worth it. Don’t discard your old image yet though.
