Also I noticed if I am in the host section and update a record a message pops up extremely fast on the screen before it redirects.

FOG ERROR: Location: Record not found, no data array or ID passed.

That is not the verbatim message, I had to click it 10 times to read it all.

This is if I delete them through the website after they have been registered. It seems to have something to do with maybe not setting the image or the operating system? I am not sure but some work, some do not work. I also ran into this after one was registered and I change the station name, then tried to delete it.

    • .33b Cannot delete host

Strange problems are popping up, and not once, this is at least 3 host I cannot delete. Errors keep popping up on the web page, is there a way to delete them in the database and which tables do I remove them from?

There error is something like ID is invalid

    • RE: Multicast

Well the are centrally managed, so I doubt I will be allowed to change settings.

I think it is our switches, they are Cisco switches managed by higher powers. I think they are 3750g’s if I remember right.

    • Multicast

Okay I tried multicast again before I left work. I setup 3 Dell Optiplex 9020 computers and assigned them to a group, after I assigned the image I started them on multicast. When they started the multicast they did actually start this time, they got to partition /dev/sda1 and just sat there. They never did start /dev/sda2 and I gave it 5 minutes, this is a Windows 7 image so it should only take a second. I turned them of and assigned the job to a single machine and it went just fine.

The multicast thing is not a deal breaker by any means. It would be nice, but not a huge deal.

    • RE: Hard Drive Size change

Well I am okay with that. I am glad they did not purchase 2tb drives at this point then.

    • Hard Drive Size change

So let’s say I have these 55 Dell’s deployed and later on down the road a drive fails. Can I pull out one of these 500gb drives and replace it with a 1tb or 2tb drive? Will it fail on the reload? I did single drive, multi-part non resize. I am not concerned about the smaller partition because I can resize it with a utility.

You know what I bet it is? I am doing this in a test environment to see how multicast works. I am doing this current test in VM’s. Since the hard drive sizes are less, that would do it right?

How can I tell “why” it is failing? The message on the computers pop up so fast, then reboot. I have no way of knowing what just happened.

Tom, how exactly can you find the minor revision you are using? I cannot seem to locate it.

Yeah, mine is working now, like my previous post. Not sure about the weird error, I may try not boot and nuking the next one off the shelf, just image right over it.

      Anyone have success with multicast?

    • RE: 4k Advanced Format Drives

I have mine resolved. I ended up nuking the original image and uploading a new sysprep’d image. I think my problem was the original image had some crap dell partioning, seems like I saw the 100mb partition was more like 300mb. I blew it all off, uploaded a new one and it is working. The only weird thing now is when I deploy the first time it errors on creating both partitions on a clean drive, but if I assign the task again it works every single time.

Also I cannot seem to get multitask to work. The machines just sit there in a waiting period but all of them are up, I tried it with just two also and they never start.

Well it was a no-go. I DBAN’d it, I ran through the commands you said to and nothing different. The message pops up really quick, too quick to read and then it reboots.

tftp: client does not accept options

Is in the syslog a few times, no idea if that helps.

    • RE: Win7 Image does not Upload!

I am pretty sure Windows 7 normally has a 100mb partition sitting out there. Try single drive, multiple partition next time.

Well when i get back in the morning, that will be the first thing I do. I guess DBAN will do just as good of a wipe correct?
