RE: ACER TravelMate Spin P414RN-51 no configuration methods succeeded (http://ipxe.org/040ee186)
I’ve tried snponly.efi and it takes me to the boot menu
I’ve rebuilt the iPXE from source using your instructions and it’s working properly now
Thank you very much

ACER TravelMate Spin P414RN-51 no configuration methods succeeded (http://ipxe.org/040ee186)
Hi wonderful fog people
fog version 1.5.9
Device-2: Realtek RTL8111/8168/8411 PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet driver: r8169
IF: enp85s0 state: down mac: e8:6c:c7:72:04:54no configuration methods succeeded (http://ipxe.org/040ee186)
The BIOS doesn’t allow the change to Legacy, so in UEFI mode
I’ve tried realtek.efi, no luck
There’s one other similar post on the forum but doesn’t appear to be resolved
Anything I can try to troubleshoot?

RE: Acer Veriton Z4860G - cannot find disk on system NVMe PCIe Non-RAID
You want me to change back from AHCI to RST with Optane in the BIOS and then check the logs?
I thought I pasted the output of uname -a from the debug
EDIT:
Set the BIOS SATA mode back to RST
Only interesting thing I found is this, note syslog file doesn’t exist

Switching to legacy doesn’t make a difference

I couldn’t see an option specifically for the NVMe but only for SATA, changed it and seems to be a success
Onboard SATA Controller: Enabled
NVMe Port 1: Enabled
Onboard SATA Mode: RST with Optane (other option is AHCI)Thanks for your help George1421
I just have to work out whether changing the SATA mode will have any problems with my image
Thanks for the debug mode tip, nice to see ssh server is running

Acer Veriton Z4860G - cannot find disk on system NVMe PCIe Non-RAID
Hello wonderful people,
I’m unable to create an image due to the hdd not being detected.
lsblk blkid shows no output
The hdd is Micron 2200
From what I’ve read I might have to upgrade to trunk, is there anything else to try beforehand?
Thank you

RE: Upgrade FOG 1.5.7 - Ubuntu Server 18.04 libcurl3
It was an upgrade from 16.04, both universe and multiverse are enabled in sources. Good to know
Thanks -
RE: Upgrade FOG 1.5.7 - Ubuntu Server 18.04 libcurl3
First I tried commenting out the packages line in .fogsettings, but I got an error on one of the packages
Then I tried to change the curl3 to curl4 in packages section of the .fogsettings
Obviously I didn’t work this out on my own
@Sebastian-Roth provided the crucial hint here:https://github.com/FOGProject/fogproject/issues/261
It still failed on the following packages
* Installing package: libapache2-mod-php7.1...................Failed! (Will try later) * Installing package: php7.1-curl.............................Failed! (Will try later)
php is set to 7.1 in fogsettings
I ran these two and it was fine (not sure if I should’ve used php7.2 instead?)
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ondrej/php apt install php7.1-curl libapache2-mod-php7.1
Thanks everyone

Upgrade FOG 1.5.7 - Ubuntu Server 18.04 libcurl3
I’m having some issues with an upgrade, I think I narrowed it down to libcurl3 or libcurl4
The installer will install libcurl3 but curl requires libcurl4 and will fail.
I noticed a few similar topics (one about Debian 10) but didn’t really see a solution

Fog server image move to another server Client problem
Hi guys,
I have fog1 server sysprepped image which has been deployed to a number of machines. Active Directory binding is working using the FOG Client and everything is working fine.I have setup fog2 server at another location, copied the image from fog1 and imported the record into the images table.
I can see it in fog2 and I am able to deploy it, however the AD join is now not working. Are there any extra steps I should take, like a install certificate?
Will go back to troubleshoot on Monday but just need some input if possible
Thanks in advance
Ubuntu 16.04 and fog 1.5.5

RE: Image and Join AD Multiple Devices using a single USB Network Adapter
@Sebastian-Roth
Lets say I deploy an image to host1 and join it to the domain. I want to image host2 next, so I thought maybe delete or just rename the host1 to host2 and start the deployment?Looks like that worked, so I am just renaming the host since I’m using the same mac address
-
RE: Image and Join AD Multiple Devices using a single USB Network Adapter
@Sebastian-Roth Thanks for the explanation.
I noticed there’s also FOG Configuration > FOG System Settings > Active Directory Defaults
Does that mean all hosts will be joined to the domain if the FOG Client is installed?
The other option is to register one host and set the Active Directory settings on the host, and just export, delete and import since I’m using one NIC
-
RE: Image and Join AD Multiple Devices using a single USB Network Adapter
Sorry about not being clear.
What I mean is on the Fog Web Interface there’s a Groups sectionThe plan was to fill out the Active Directory details in there
Active Directory
Clear all fields? Ticked
Join Domain after deploy
Domain name
Organizational Unit
(Blank for default)
Domain Username
Domain Password
Domain Password Legacy
(Must be encrypted)
Name Change/AD Join Forced reboot?
Make changes? However, if no hosts are a members of this group when I Update (to save my AD details for the bind) the fields are all blank when I go back to Groups > Active Directory
If I add a host1 to the Membership of the group, the Active Directory settings are saved, but once I add a second host2 they are blank for that host, while retained for host1.
I guess the question is what do I do to retain the Active Directory username and password so that it is used for any host I register.
(I’ll worry about the issue of having one USB Network Adapter later)

Image and Join AD Multiple Devices using a single USB Network Adapter
Hey there,
Have’t really used this feature before. The plan was to set the AD bind in a newly created group but the settings don’t stick.
I had a read on the forum and noticed a host has to be added to be persistent but if I add another host to the group the settings get cleared (hypothetically if I had another network adapter)
What do you guys usually do in this situation?
Export the single host and import the csv with identical settings but different names? what do I do about mac address?
