      Update - it’s got something to do with the location plugin, because when I disable it, imaging works.

    • No such file or directory (http://ipxe.org/2d0c613b) while trying to image.

      Folks - I am not sure what I did to cause this, fog had been working fine, but this morning when I try to image anything I get this screen on my clients:

      Where should I start to look?

      That did the trick - thanks! (the mysql stuff worked just as it is)

    • trying to update to 1.3.1 RC 1 - get Copying binaries where needed...............................Failed!

      I am trying to update my copy of FOG like I always have been for months now, and I am getting an error message that I have not see before:

       * Unzipping the binaries......................................Done
       * Copying binaries where needed...............................Failed!

      Any ideas what’s going on?

      Thanks!

      @Tom-Elliott
      I just need to make a habit of never starting a task from that page I guess. When I use fog, it’s usually before the coffee kicks in and I am a little bleary-eyed.

      @Tom-Elliott

      Fruitless of mistakes? Well, shoot - I make a lot of them! If it were up to me, I would like them both to behave in a consistent manor, but I am no fog expert by any means.

      Thanks for all your efforts! Wonderful software!

    • Inconsistent task deployment

      Folks - I have noticed that when you deploy tasks from the host management or group management pages, fog gives you a chance to reconsider, saying, “Are you sure you wish to deploy task to these machines?”. When you deploy a task from the task management page there is no such warning - the task just starts.

      Is that by design, or an oversight? Am I missing something?

      Yesterday I started a deploy on a group when I really wanted a multicast, and realized that it never allowed me to back out.

      I am using Ubuntu 16.04 and am on the latest trunk version. Well, latest as as of a couple of days ago. Things move pretty quickly these days!

      @Wayne-Workman
      Thanks, Wayne. That does work and I have it running like that now. What I was wanting to do is add the extra items to a separate (password-protected) menu.

    • RE: Fog 1.3 PXE Menu Entry for System Rescue CD

      What steps would to take to password-protect this? I added it to my menu and discovered that the little creeps in the library I look after have been messing with it. I am going to need some step-by-step instructions I guess. I tried using the wiki and what I could find here, but I can’t seem to get the menu to work right. In the older version of fog (0.32) it was easy. I am sure it is with 1.3, too, but I must be missing a step somewhere.

      Thanks - looks like that might work, as the interface name shows up on the graph now. I won’t know until I do some fogging. Thanks!

      @Wayne-Workman
      My remote storage server’s interface name is eth0 and that shows up as a name on the graph. My local server is ens33 and that does not show up - it looks like “Default Member()”

      Where do I set that?

      I am on 1.3.0-RC-25 and it never shows anything. Is that normal right now?

      @Tom-Elliott said in Added Storage node - now what?:

      @LibraryMark Click the Plugin icon at the top of the page. It looks like a little “gear” (A single one) right next to the logout icon.

      Ok - I see now. I think I have it working. But currently my storage node is not being replicated to, so I’ve got some troubleshooting to do - the replicator log is complaining:

      Type: 2, File: /var/www/html/fog/lib/fog/fogftp.class.php, Line: 463, Message: ftp_login(): Login incorrect., Host: 10.0.0.68, Username: fog

      So I have ticked FOG_PLUGINSYS_ENABLED and clicked save. Where do I find “Activate Plugins”, “Install Plugins”, and “Installed Plugins” listed in the instructions at https://wiki.fogproject.org/wiki/index.php?title=Plugins?

      Folks - We have added a storage node at our branch location to service 30 pc’s there. How do we tell the machines out there to pull their image from that server?
