why not just put a redirect in the root?

RE: Latest Development FOGposted in General
when not participating in beta testing, updates only need to be installed infrequently. for this reason, i do not feel that a “no touch” updater is needed. there was another forum poster that created one, however, if you care to seek it out. though, as i recall, this script broke slightly with one of the updates to the install/update script.

UEFI needs to be disabled. at present, only legacy boot works.

have you verified that the last line in the vbs script is a carriage return?

RE: Uploading Image Issueposted in FOG Problems

when it has booted up, run a ifconfig -a and report the results, please. -

those computers have wireless cards in them, right? what happens if you disabled them?

RE: Latest Development FOGposted in General
yes, the latest fog 1.0.1 is compatible with Ubuntu 10.04 LTS and up, though i don’t recommend 14.04 due to the number of issues reported on it. Ubuntu 13.10 and 12.04 are fine, however.

RE: Uploading Image Issueposted in FOG Problems
i talked with tom, and he says that the driver for at least the HP Compaq 4000 SFF is in the kernel, (i didn’t see what nic is in the other one, HP’s website sucks), so it’s not a nic driver issue
could you run the “client system information” option from the fog boot menu, and see if it passes the compatibility check?

RE: Group Managementposted in Feature Request
probably the easiest way to add hosts to groups is to search for the hosts and add them to groups from the hosts management page
for example, all of those computers would come up in a search for “RASD” -
RE: Uploading Image Issueposted in FOG Problems
what models of computers are you having trouble with?

RE: Uploading Image Issueposted in FOG Problems
i would try rebooting it and letting it try again. also, check the network cable to make sure it’s a good one. i had some funny issues with imaging that turned out be be computers hooked up to some really old 4 wire Ethernet cables

i recommend that you install phpmyadmin, which will allow you to edit the database from a webgui, if you want to edit the database and are unfamiliar with editing mysql databases from command line

RE: Fog 1.0.1 and CentOS on VMware, moving kernel to TFTP server hangsposted in FOG Problems
that error is a non-issue. it’s just telling you it can’t load a driver for a device that i happen to know isn’t on that computer. does it not continue and do what it’s supposed to if you let it continue?

RE: Fog 1.0.1 - this is not a partclone imageposted in FOG Problems
i recommend creating a new image profile to upload the image to instead of just switching the legacy flag back

RE: Refresh install of 1.0.1, but migrate data from 0.32?posted in General
you didn’t see that page before because i wrote it in response to your question, lol
(now to just wait for other people to correct me on it, it should be mostly right though)
i run 12.04 lts and have had no issue, though i’m no expert and you may be better off with the recommendations of others -
RE: Refresh install of 1.0.1, but migrate data from 0.32?posted in General
i can’t recommend Ubuntu 14.04
of all the problems people have had with different distros and fog, that one has come up the most
people have been able to get it to work, and many have no problems, others haven’t been so lucky. if you choose it, you have been warned.
upgrading fog from 0.32 directly is supported, but not recommended.here is what i would recommend for a Manual Migration/Upgrade:
