Maybe add that note to the wiki here and include the command to upgrade to release candidate as well as working branch for the less adventurous.

RE: AD join works with legacy client fails with new client
@Joe-Schmitt @Sebastian-Roth ok entered the ad password again for the new client cleared and re checked it for the problematic host and it is now working. When the new client first came out was the entry always plain text or did that get added in a later SVN maybe i had it encrypted from before?

RE: AD join works with legacy client fails with new client
@Sebastian-Roth Both client, fog server, and domain controller time settings match including time zone. My server password isn’t unusually exotic it is just Uppercase and lower case letters and numbers no special characters.

RE: Fog Client fails to authenticate
@sebastian-roth I have been busy with other things and finally revisited this issue. Recreating the certificate and tokens fixed my authentication problem I may have and AD join issue but will troubleshoot further before I open a new topic on it.
-
RE: "Seems like you are trying to restore to an empty disk" issue
Two other things to check are the bios versions identical, and is secure boot on or off.
-
RE: Uninstall and install Citrix receiver.
/silent should be in the Snapin Arguments field.

RE: Fog Client 11.12 not renaming computer/joining domain (Could not authenticate)
Also if you add the host to a group it will force the reset encryption button to appear in group management you can try that. This appears to be the same issue I am seeing in https://forums.fogproject.org/topic/10167/fog-client-fails-to-authenticate/11 but we haven’t got an answer there yet either but you can try some of the same steps yourself.

RE: W7 Image: Disk read Error after imaging
Then I think you need to try what @sudburr suggested and wipe the drive fully before imaging.

RE: Fog Client fails to authenticate
Upgraded server to latest SVN today 6072 same issue as shown below.

RE: W7 Image: Disk read Error after imaging
This may be off base but are the drive settings in BIOS the same on both machines I have had similar issues when ahci is enabled on one but not the other.
-
RE: Fog Client fails to authenticate
Also note the Reset Encryption button never appears for the host but I can add it to a group and see it there.
-
RE: Fog Client fails to authenticate
After reinstall of client I am back to the original issue of value cannot be null.
-
RE: Fog Client fails to authenticate
first step I did on client was uninstalled the client then I did the mono cleanup and update then i reinstalled the client but I will try again

RE: Fog Client fails to authenticate
Ok I probably did something stupid I saw @Tom-Elliott response to https://forums.fogproject.org/topic/10168/linux-client-could-not-authenticate/3 and tried it on my server before I realized the steps were intended for the client not the server now my fog client log looks like this.

RE: PXE Boot Problems
I second the suggestion of getting a USB NIC to resolve the issue these also come in handy if you need to image a Surface or other PC tablet that does not have a built in wired NIC. On the HP PXE issue have you tried a different kernel I have resolved this issue before that way.

RE: Storms, corrupted MBR, save the images?
I try and keep a USB drive backup of the images offline as well as the configuration save to permit an easy rebuild from scratch if necessary. Most users update images rarely enough that this is not a huge burden.

RE: Moving Default storage location
It sounds like the drives are on separate virtual machines in which case you need to install fog on the second one as a storage node. Not sure how current this is but here is a video about it https://youtu.be/X72WthDGwsw.

RE: Fog Client fails to authenticate
This is the first time we have tried to use the new client all our current installs are with the legacy client.
