      I just glanced over the WIKI. If I was all caught up around here I’d consider it. But since I’m behind as usual, I think this guy will be waiting for a bit!

      Thanks again!

      Cheers,

      @Wayne-Workman Thanks! I try and update weekly. I just updated FOG today, so I’ll be on whatever the most current SVN release is.

      @Tom-Elliott Thanks! I’ll check it out!

    • Ubuntu 16.04 LTS

      I hate to even think about updating to 16.04 on my FOG server and storage nodes but…

      Has anyone done any testing yet? I know this was just recently released… Just curious if anyone has bitten the bullet…

      Thanks!!

      Cheers,

      Joe

      @Wayne-Workman I have done this with the MAK key. That works fine. We just wanted to switch over to KMS. Which with our script snap-in it seems to be activating just fine now. I still need to refine it though. I think I’m going to add @Mentaloid’s suggestions to my existing script. I do believe that will finalize automation. 🙂

    • RE: Rolling Reboot -- FOG Client AD issue

      @Tom-Elliott

      Well after an update, I still had 1 out of 4 clients do the rolling reboot. It’s interesting because the one that was stuck, was a different model. I"m wondering if their isn’t a driver issue with the image as it’s a universal image. The only funny thing is that, again, after you delete the task from the active task list, things proceed as they should. AD add works, drivers seem fine, everything is happy. So I’m still a little stumped. LOL!

      If you’d like any logs just say so and I’ll post whatever you need.

      I’ll be away from the office tomorrow but I’ll probably still check in some time. I can always remote in and send you something.

      Thanks!

      Cheers,

      Joe

      Will do and I’ll update. It happens even without snapins running. But I’ll update and see if it continues.

      Thanks!

    • RE: Rolling Reboot -- FOG Client AD issue

      @Developers

      Well, I’m back at it again. I noticed that this issue also occurs on unicasts. I deployed several machines yesterday; pushing each machine as I added them to FOG. I had about half of those machines where the task never completed in the “Active Task” screen and went into reboot hell.

      I had a snapin addon on these guys. I’m going to try re-pushing them without said plugin and see what happens.

      Cheers,

      Joe

      @Mentaloid I’m very green on a lot of this stuff so bear with me. I would think what you have right there should work just fine.

      I’ll be working on all of this stuff a little later this week. I’ll give that a try.

    • RE: Snapin Questions

      @Wayne-Workman Interesting… It just doesn’t ever seem to run. I can run the script aside from fog using “run as admin” and it does just fine. If I run it without elevated privileges it does not seem to do the command right.

    • RE: Windows 7 KMS Questions

      @Tom-Elliott I have tried a VBScript and have been unable to run it on the domain without having admin rights. How would I set admin rights with VBscript?

      @Wayne-Workman I thought about something like that but did not know if it would work or not.

      I’ll be working on this stuff more later this week. I may try that.

      @Joe-Schmitt Alright, I searched and searched and tried and tried but I cannot for the life of me figure out the how to get a script to run with elevated privileges. The command structure works, it just won’t run unless you are an admin. Any ideas are appreciated. Thanks!

      @Joe-Schmitt No problem. I would add that to the end of the script or just leave it in the parameters within FOG?

      @Wayne-Workman This is the script…

      cscript C:\Windows\System32\slmgr.vbs /skms kms7:1688

      KMS7 is just a DNS name for the “server”. And no you don’t have to do anything except put in admin credentials to run as admin.

    • RE: Windows 7 KMS Questions

      So my syntax above is actually incorrect…

      This is what actually ended up working…

      cscript C:\Windows\System32\slmgr.vbs /skms XXX:1688

      Save that as a .cmd file and run it as administrator and away you go. Just be sure to replace the XXX with your IP address or dns name.

    • RE: Snapin Questions

      @Wayne-Workman No. All I do to run it is select run as administrator and away it goes. Now I did discover that my syntax was bad. Now I’ve got that straightend up.

      I saved the file as a cmd file. It does refer to a vbscript program though. Either way Command prompt will run it just fine.
