I do not sysprep. This is a straight-forward image capture. I can capture same laptop with single disk - not resizeable, but who wants a 1tb image?

    • Client capture issue (lenovo laptop)

Lenovo B50-30 Touch laptop. I was able to load a base Windows 7 Pro image on it, then loaded the rest of the programs & apps needed for this touch version of this laptop, then wanted to capture to a new image. Download worked fast and perfectly. Capture keeps failing with "ERROR(5): could not open inode 182234 through the library: Input/output error (shirnkPartition) Args Passed: /dev/sda3 /images/f896334549d/d1.original.fstypes :1:2

Anyone have any idea what’s going on here?

@sebastian-roth I am using undionly.kpxe I haven’t tried any others as I have never had to do this before (that I recall) and the other 99% of thge fleet is working just fine on this one. If I were to change it, I suppose I change it in the DHCP reservations area? Where is it picking up this file from?

what hardware are you using (model)? >Lenovo M78 (C2111)
Is the device in uefi or bios (legacy) mode? >UEFI
Have you installed the latest firmware on that target computer? >Yes. It’s got the latest and greatest of everything. That’s why I am trying to image this box.

I have had this issue in the past, and Tom worked with me to get this done. However to be honest, that was like 2 years ago. Major improvements here in Fog since then.

    • stuck at "ipxe initialising devices.." (Lenovo)

      Hey everyone.

So I am once again having this iPXE being stuck at initialising… and it only happens on my Lenovo Desktop. Yeah I “think” it has the notorious REALTEC NIC in it. Fog works perfectly on all of my other desktops and laptops, just not with the Lenovo.

Yes I have looked at all the various links, tips and tricks in here, but I do not see any “one” accepted and working answer. Can someone help me out with this?

    • RE: FOG image deploy is failing due to looking in wrong folder?

Yeah Tom dropped by for a quick second or two (I am thankful) not sure if it is a bug, but the image would not deploy via tasks at all. At Tom’s request, I tried debug deploy and it still would not fire off. However for some silly reason it worked perfectly when I launched from the FOG splash screen.

So I guess we can mark this as solved? One other quick item though, my “active tasks” screen only blinks the active task, then auto-hides the actual task for some reason. Any idea why?

About 2 weeks ago, due to an image uploading problem (bad sectors on hdd) we built up a new server with the above version. (thanks Tom Elliott) We discovered after the first upload that the image was uploading to a /images/dev folder for some reason. FOG configuration page shows only the /images folder, but when trying to deploy an image FOG fails with trying to find the image in the /images/dev folder. Why is this? I can’t find the offending issue. Help please?##### Server
