Error deploying an existing image to SSD drive
Trying to deploy an image to an SSD drive that is smaller than the original system hard drive - this machine have 2 drives: 1 SSD (for faster performance) and a 1TB HDD SATA drive. I have temporarily disabled the SATA drive and trying to deploy my image onto a SATA drive from an existing image (same machine and hardware type, minus the SSD drive) which is single drive - resizeable. Initially I am getting an exit error 4. Seeing how this is an SSD drive, I have gone into the host machine setup and am using /dev/nmve0n1. But now I am getting an additional error: “failed to read back partitions””
I am using FoG 1.6Nowq the tricky part is, the SSD drive is 256GB and the original SATA drive this image came from is a 500GB drive. The image itself is less than 60GB (39GB I believe) so not sure why single drive resizeable won’t work here? Time is of the essence here, so any help would be greatly appreciated!

RE: Adding new storage after new HDD install?
@Sebastian-Roth Sebastian, quick question for you. What would be considered “best practice” in this scenario? I have copied all my current (1tb) files to a NAS device, so now both the 1tb and the new 2tb drives are available to do whatever is needed to them. At this point is the LVM the best way to go?

RE: Adding new storage after new HDD install?
@george1421 I think this is exactly what I am looking for. Let me research your options here. If I have two storage nodes, the search function will still search across both nodes, right?

@Sebastian-Roth Looks like I have some research to do. Thanks for everything! Sure wish Tom were around…

RE: Adding new storage after new HDD install?
@george1421 I was hoping to just “add” the space, if at all possible? I most certainly do not want to forfeit any images I currently have. I do not mind moving the current images to the new drive, if that makes the most sense. This is why I am asking you all for help on this. Did know adding a single drive to a linux box would cause this much pain. Once again open to any best practice suggestions you might have.

Adding new storage after new HDD install?
Hate to have to ask here in the forums, but I can’t seem to find any documentation here. I ran out of space on my original hard drive, so I installed a 2nd drive (2tb )in the unit yesterday. However I cannot figure out how to configure FOG to use that new drive. Can anyone help? This is a time sensitive request.
I am running “Channel Alpha | Version 1.5.4.586” -
RE: PXE cannot connect to new Lenovo Laptop
@Sebastian-Roth
That worked! Thanks! -
RE: PXE cannot connect to new Lenovo Laptop
… which bootfile do you think I should use, where can I find it, and where do I copy to?
-
RE: PXE cannot connect to new Lenovo Laptop
Sebastian, you could be right here. First, DHCP is handed by existing network DHCP. Yes I was using undionly as all the other hardware I was using was legacy. Where would I find and copy the bootfile for these new lenovo laptops to?

RE: Search not working
It’s there now and working. It was not there on Friday, on any of the pages. Not sure if you guys did a refresh or anything like that, but it’s working just fine now. Thanks a bunch!

PXE cannot connect to new Lenovo Laptop
PXE runs, then immediately dumps off to next boot-up device. I use FOG for imagine with literally dozens of other vendors, just not this laptop. Any ideas?

Search pages on this site are not working. When I click on the magnifying glass, no matter what page I am on, I get the error message “/search Not Found
