RE: New DHCP Server - Client TFTP Error
@emerinea You can spend time troubleshooting the real issue, or you can get back to working… I would recommend using DNSMASQ to help your machines to resolve to your tftp server since you are still on FOG version 0.32
Use this link.
Let us know if you have issues.
You should really think about moving on to FOG 1.3.5 as a lot has changed and it will help us to assist you further. Not that any FOG project was ever supported the 0.32 version is quite old.
I would grab some hardware and set up a new server and moth ball the old one.
Hope this helps!

RE: Imaging Causes Phone Problems.
@matthewk2010 This is unicast.
Multicast is when you send the same image to multiple computers at the same time as a “group” task.
They often wait in a Queue and download the same information at the same time. (they will all wait at 30% until all clients are are 30% and then proceed).

RE: Imaging Causes Phone Problems.
Is the tftp server that the VOIP system uses in the same subnet and vlan as the FOG server?
What switches do you use?
This leads me to believe that something in the network, or switches is not configured correctly.
-
RE: Imaging Causes Phone Problems.
wait… what? Please elaborate on the issue you are having.
If you are talking about VOIP phones, you need to separate the vlans and put the VOIP system on a vlan on it’s own.

RE: Remove a Registry Key
@abos_systemax OHH, okay, I get you! sorry for the misunderstanding there.
I don’t have any experience with this yet, but I will get to

Can you provide some pictures of your error please?
And also post your apache error log.

@coop90 Glad you got it sorted, sorry it took so long to get to the bottom of it!

RE: Fog download image fails
Have you tried a chmod command to change the permissions on that folder?

RE: Remove a Registry Key
I know this method works, I have used it in the past. I would start by troubleshooting the script on a client machine that is already imaged, tweaking the script to work, then leaving the script in the drive someplace and calling it through a snapin or some how (first time log in, (There is a registry value for the default user hive that is labeled as “run once” you could try including your script in the user hive))
just a quick question, in your reg file you didn’t write the code like this did you? “<-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Elements>”
not < >.you can probably still use your script above, but you will need to look at the reg file. The easiest way to solve this is to export the reg key from another machine and edit the .reg file by adding the

Deleting Registry Keys and Values
To delete a registry key with a .reg file, put a hyphen (-) in front of the RegistryPath in the .reg file. For example, to delete the Test subkey from the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software
put a hyphen in front of the following registry key in the .reg file:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Test
The following example has a .reg file that can perform this task.
[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Test]
To delete a registry value with a .reg file, put a hyphen (-) after the equals sign following the DataItemName in the .reg file. For example, to delete the TestValue registry value from the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Test
put a hyphen after the “TestValue”= in the .reg file. The following example has a .reg file that can perform this task.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Test
"TestValue"=-
To create the .reg file, use Regedit.exe to export the registry key that you want to delete, and then use Notepad to edit the .reg file and insert the hyphen. -

RE: Inserting Extended partitions - failed
@coop90 FOG is agnostic towards the data. Your selections in the GUI help to define if the image is Linux, Mac, Windows, etc. FOG just does a clone of everything present on the drive, and all partitions if you have set the settings appropriately.
FOG Doesn’t care if the image is sysprepped or not, the OS might, but FOG does not. Sometime in the past there was limited understanding toward sysprep and a special tool was made to assist in making images deploy completely from the FOG server. But again this was to satisfy the OS, not FOG. The data was written to the drive, but the OS was not happy with registry values, and etc that were necessary for the OS to boot.
So I don’t think the fact that the image is not sysprepped is the problem, it could be, but it may not. You can attempt to sysprep one, upload it as a new image and try to deploy and report back. However, I am not certain this is where the issue lies.
What perplexes me is that the image deploys fine to a hard drive that is larger in size. But will not deploy to one smaller. This also bothers me. But THIS is exactly the reason I build my images on literally the smallest hard drive I can find.
I realize this doesn’t exactly answer your question, but It helps me get some thoughts out so I can get on the right track of finding a resolution for your issue. It also arms you with information that you may or may not have known.

RE: Missing fogsettings file path forward
@george1421 I second this notion.
I have a 32 bit Ubuntu 10.04 on FOG 0.32 that is moth balling at the moment.
I did clone the hard drive a few times with clonezilla and try to upgrade it… I spent FAR less time building a new server and importing new images. But I like to do things the hard way from time to time, just to see if it’s possible.
I did get the operating system upgraded fine. The move from x32 to x64 left a lot of things broken (packages wouldn’t install, etc.) and I couldn’t get to the images via pxe or web gui.
It seemed to work fine before I moved from x32 to x64 when I upgraded 10.04 to 14.04, but I digress: If you moth ball the server, you have something to fall back on in a pinch.

@SusejNatas Thanks for providing your solution, Welcome to the Forums, welcome to FOG, and Welcome to LINUX!
We are happy to have you here! We are sorry no one got to answer you before you solved your own issue, but please don’t let that deter you from making suggestions, modifications, or asking questions!
I have marked your post as solved. If you feel this is in error, please let me know. Feel free to provide further details on how you determined, and solved the issue, as it will help others with similar issues in the future.

RE: Upgrade version
@mimi1255 If the upgrade still fails (because 15.04 is technically EOL) try changing the LTS to Normal instead.
If there are errors, please provide them so that I can assist further, it may be possible that we need to doctor the repo list to include the old versions.
