@Wayne-Workman Unfortunately I have tried all that. I logged in as local and domain admin. Unable to touch it really. I can post screens of the permissions if needed.

    • Mystery file C:\Program?

      Hello again,
I am encountering a very strange issue and I’m not sure if it has anything to do with FOG. On my freshly imaged machine I got a warning that there was a file called “Program” in the root of the 😄 drive:
      0_1462967096481_Capture.PNG

Weird. It also barks this every time someone logs in:
      0_1462967176679_Capture3.PNG

Easy fix right? Nope, even though I am the owner and have permissions, I can’t do anything to this file (delete, move, rename). Access is always denied. The only thing I can do is open it in Notepad. Here are the contents:
      0_1462967268873_Capture2.PNG

Since it is very ambiguous, I’m not sure what it’s from. I was thinking the FOG client possibly?

      Thanks!
      Paul

    • RE: Surface Pro 4 unable to image

I just recently used FOG to create a surface pro 4 image. My workaround was to use a port replicator/hub to have both an external USB keyboard and Ethernet adapter plugged into the surface. It seemed to recognize both. It isn’t a permanent solution but It is how I did it.

@Tom-Elliott @ch3i I changed it to my password. Thanks, I was thinking there was something like that, just didn’t know where.

      Thanks!

    • RE: Fog Server Fog Account password resets every trunk upgrade

@ch3i , I do see a setting for a password. Is this file retained/referenced during the install? If so, this can work. I know it isn’t good practice to put it right there in plaintext, but unless there is a fancy way to encrypt it, I’d be ok with doing that.

      Thanks!

    • Fog Server Fog Account password resets every trunk upgrade

      Hello all,
This is not an urgent issue as I have a band-aid fix for this at the time being. I have a script that updates FOG trunk every night at 3am automatically. It works great, but one thing I do not like about it is that the FOG installer resets the FOG account password every time it updates. Learning from my mistakes from an earlier thread, I use a separate FogAdmin account to work on the server while leaving the built in FOG account alone. This works great except since the password changes every update and I update every day, it hoses up FTP stuff. For example, when I go to upload an image, it works perfectly until it tries to update the changes to the database. It throws an authentication (invalid password) error and tries a few more times before finally resetting and trying to upload again. My band-aid fix is to manually change the FOG account password to match my FTP password on the GUI. This works until it updates again. I believe FOG sets a random password every upgrade, so there isn’t an easy way to have it match up on the GUI. I can post the content of the script if anyone wants it, I modified one that I found in a past post in the forums. Please let me know if you need more info/don’t understand my wall of text 🙂

      Thanks!
      Paul

    • RE: Invalid Host Certificate error Client Trunk 7348

Update: I just Tried to reinstall using the --recreate-keys to no avail. I’m afraid to use the other argument "–recreate-ca because of the big bold waning on the wiki saying it will break the connection to all of the clients. Is this only true for the new clients, or both the new and the legacy? If it’s just the new one that is affected, I think I’d be OK doing the CA recreate.

    • Invalid Host Certificate error Client Trunk 7348

      Hello again,
Forgive me if I am ignorant on the subject, as this is my first time using the new Fog Client as well as making a Windows 10 image. I am getting an error on the Client that prevents any services (particularly the Hostname Changer) from working.

(I apologize for the long length of the log, just wanted to show everything)
I don’t know what the specific Client version is, but I downloaded it from the latest trunk install. It is a Windows 10 Education OS on a Surface Pro 4, imaged using a Microsoft Model 1663 Ethernet to USB adapter.

      Thanks for your help!

Thank you, I updated and the client is back. However, I am still unable to get the service working due to that same “invalid host certificate error”. I will start a new thread for that.

    • Fog Client Download Page missing after Trunk 7342

      Hi all,
I just updated to the latest trunk Git 7342 hoping it would solve a problem I was having with the new fog client authenticating on a Windows 10 client (error in log stating that there is an invalid host certificate, but that’s a separate issue). I went to download the fresh client after the trunk upgrade and I’m getting a HTTP: 500 error on Internet explorer and a blank page on Chrome and Firefox. I’m thinking this was either an error by me or a bug in the latest trunk. Any help would be appreciated. I can make a separate post for the certificate error if it is still an issue after updating.

      Thanks!

    • Ubuntu 14.04 FOG server password resets

      Hi all,
This may be an Ubuntu issue more than a FOG issue, but I wanted to start somewhere. On my FOG trunk VM, I run everything from a local account named “fog” with a normal password. After a few minutes, it seems that user is “Deauthenticated” and loses permissions to everything. I can’t run commands or edit files. I have a script that updates the Trunk Version every night at 3am, but that won’t run without being authenticated. The only way I found to temporarily fix it is to log in as root and reset the “fog” account password back to what it was. This allows me to be authenticated for about 10 minutes and then it happens again. Please let me know if there are any logs you may need and where to find them within Ubuntu. Please also let me know if I need to be more descriptive. I am kind of a noob over here.

      Thanks!
      Paul

    • SVN/Trunk Release notes?

      Hi All,
I have a very silly question. Where would I find the release notes for the FOG trunk releases? We just made the jump from stable to trunk and since there are so many releases, I’d like to see the notes if possible. Probably hard to keep up with for so frequent updates. Sorry if I’m missing something obvious here.

      Thanks for your help!
