right, whats on this ubuntu server at the moment?
and can you have downtime?

Personally I would have 2008 provide DHCP and i would not have that running on 2008 in a vbox machine for a school network
Tell us more about your schools complete setup, what equipment do you have?
These are just minor things I noticed… don’t hate me for being picky!! lol
On Service Configuration -> Task Reboot it reads:
If it does and no user is logged in, the Servicewill restart.
under fog .32 it reads:
If it does and no user is logged in, the host will restart.
Report Management Page -> Home it reads:
FOG system. to view a
needs a capital T
ah I see. both are great guides for beginners.
MUST BE DONE PRIOR TO IMPORTING A HOST TO YOUR FOG SERVER
you can also import hosts, add them all to a group and assign an image to the group
12.) Image Management will allow you to create images, this MUST BE DONE PRIOR TO IMPORTING A HOST TO YOUR FOG SERVER, otherwise you will have to create one and select it later. Click “New Image” on the left. Give the image a name, a description, select “Default” for Storage, and give the file a name, no spaces. Select Multiple Partition image – Single Disk (Not resizeable) or Multiple Partition image – All Disks (Not resizeable) ONLY THE NOT RESIZABLE OPTIONS WORK WITH FOG SERVER. Click Add.
Great guide, however if I read this right I will have to disagree
I have always used Single Partition (resizeable) with a Default windows 7 install (standard CD install with two partition layout)
ticking the AD box in host management now auto populates the fields
…time to test some deployments
Awesome Tom, as always your work here is greatly appreciated.
Will be sure to test/feedback to you
Thanks again
Tom was 977 fix for the AD populating as it wasn’t working for me earlier
using 996
I have input my AD settings in FOG Configuration, FOG System Settings etc.
but when in Host Management and I click to enable AD joining on the host it does not auto populate the fields. is this just me??
thanks
give it another shot, also try a different kernel. maybe upload the one you were using in your fog .32 setup?
Tom this sounds great, appreciate what you are achieving and doing for us FOG folk!!
ok… we’ve finessed our export/imports and are confident we can make 033b happen. However one tiny problem that’s probably easy to fix., when you search for any piece of hardware like a serial number or asset tag, search results are 0.
We use this quite extensively to search for Dell tags.
Can you try on in your database to search for something in the hardware… like System Serial Number ?
how did you export and import from .32 to .33
I receive same error, Ubuntu server 10.04
Also the fog sql database didn’t seem to be created using 960
I think fogprep was used before uploading an image that wasn’t sysprepped. To be honest I a have not used it in the last two years so my memory is kinda vague on this
