    • RE: Upload Task Error: "no resizable partitions found"

@gooroox The RAW mode is slow because it’s save all the disk (empty space too).

      Hello,

I installed Fog in a virtual ubuntu 64 bit 14.04 LTS with virtual box. I configured an internal network with a switch (between the virtual box ubuntu and the windows host is a network bridge). However, I could start the boot menu of Fog wih a Client PC with Windows 8.1 and I could register the client (in Fog its called “host”) in the Fog database. I prepared the Windows 8.1 image in image management and I started the upload task.

With the following start, the Fog server tried to get the image… but an error was shown: “no resizable partitions found”. I tried to change the configuration of the image partition in image management. After that the client reacted with stopping the process without any error message. I can not find any information about the error message. Do you have experience with that? Do you know a solution?

      Thank you very much!

      Hi,

Please post (screenshot if you want) your image configuration in the web UI.

      @kverkiss Please check this value:

FOG Configuration -> FOG Settings -> TFTP Server -> FOG_TFTP_PXE_KERNEL_DIR

      Make sure that’s set right.

      Mine is set to this:

      /var/www/html/fog/service/ipxe/

      If debian based : /var/www/fog/service/ipxe/

I am going through the same problem. I have the settings correct and even did chmod 777 on the image folder but still says 0.0 size on server

Hi, check your configuration using :https://wiki.fogproject.org/wiki/index.php/Troubleshoot_FTP

      Your problem is FTP access.

So basically just recreate the image and change the image path to the name of the image?

So image name ( What ever I want )
      Blank Description
      Default Storage Group
Win 7 for os ( unless its 8 obv)
Images path images/Dell7020i7SFFPD ( <-- is one of the image files i have)
      Image type : Multi single.

So basically just make the images path what i’ve placed in the images folder correct?

Yep, Ensure that OS, Disk type, … are correctly set.

      Hello,

I had an issue with fog that required me to fully uninstall fog and sql and reinstall it. Finally I am back in fog. Now I need to figure out how to bring my images folder into fog. Is it even possible?

      Thanks!

Copy your images in your /images folder, check rights (777) create in UI each image with the folder name associated.

      Hi,

is it possible to edit the fog.man.reg script after the installation of FOG?
I tried changing it in the downloaded folder, but it didn´t effect the Full Registration process.

      Hi,

You have to modify it in the init.xz.

it’s why i said, we need a script to agregate informations from fails and success :

Model, svn, kernel used, ipxe used, lan driver, image configuration (single or not, resizable or not), error message.

For sure it’s a good idea, but at this time to have some support you can manually provide these informations .

@ch3i I moved them both to the new group… don’t remember which one I moved first.

I ask you that but if I understand the fog replication, if you move a secondary node to another group as secondary node, all of images of previous group in this node will be remove and replace by the image of the new group, no ?

The node you change to another group is a secondary node or the master ?

I’m nearly certain it’s specific to Dells at this point. I have others who’ve told me they have seen similar problems and fixed the problem by doing a full reinstall.

I’m not requesting you do this as I’d much rather have an imaging system that just works regardless of the layout of a disk.

      Manufacturers installations >> crap lol
