      As I try to image via quick image, I also notice that my image is sloooooooow. Like, not even topping 300 MB/min slow. I haven’t seen that before.

      It’s a ubuntu 14.04 box that had been working.

    • Cant set image in Webui v8325

      Whenever I go into a registered host and attempt to set an image from the drop down, it won’t hold. I go to the drop down, select an image, click update, it says ‘host updated’, but the image never holds.

      If I attempt to go and deploy to it anyways, it says it can’t due to the image is not enabled.

      All of my images are enabled.

    • RE: Image Prep Script

      Ah ok, that makes sense.

      The way I was reading it was that this would make it so you didn’t need to sysprep , almost as a replacement, which is why i got confused. Even more so with the fun of SIDS and such.

      Forgive me for ignorance, but why wouldn’t I just sysprep? I mean, it works, has worked for years, so…

      I think evenings would be best, and why not schedule via UTC. Then we know exactly when it is, regardless of where you’re at.

      that being said, I go for Thursdays at like 7:30 CST due to selfish reasons.

      Sorry for the delay, busy day.

      Updated to 8143, all seems good.

      no dice. Just updated the testing node to 8138, same issue. Putting the info back in config.class.php gets connection back, but it didn’t have them originally.

      I just went and updated another node via git as well, and it did the same thing. It appears it wipes out the SQl settings in the fogsettings file. Adding them back in fixes it, but obviously isn’t what we’d want.

      I’ve put those in now, and had verified that if I put them into config.class.php manually, I got database connection back as well.

      So we’ve figured out what broke, but I’m sorta confused as to why it happened in the first place? I appreciate the help, just wouldn’t want someone else to update and get the same issue.

      Well, that’s odd, those are all blank. No user, pass, host.

      It has all my other settings still, like IP and password and such.

      Main server, stand alone. Was working fine until I did the update.

      Adding in the host and username resolved the issue instantly.

      Yep, just pulled this in from my backup of the machine.

      Before hand, it had the right credentials, root setup and everything as normal.

      After the update, it did not.

      Odd?

      8132 . I pulled from git earlier this morning. I was on um…7875 I think?

      This vm does nothing but FOG, so last night I had went in to update it as I usually did weekly-ish, came back to this this morning.

      I’ve also verified that when I manually start mysql with the root user, it still gives me the same error.

    • Database issue on latest trunk

      Updated to latest GIT trunk last night with the normal git pull ./installfog.sh . It came up with the normal “go to the management url and update Schema” request. When I went there, I receive the following:

      Database Schema Installer / Updater
      Database Schema Installer / Updater
      Your database connection appears to be invalid. FOG is unable to communicate with the database. There are many reasons why this could be the case. Please check your credentials in /var/www/fog/lib/fog/config.class.php. Also confirm that the database is indeed running. If credentials are correct, and the Database service is running, check to ensure your filesystem has enough space.

      I verified that mysql is running, and that I can connect as the root user. In my the config.class.php, I have:

      private static function db_settings() {
      define(‘DATABASE_TYPE’,‘mysql’); // mysql or oracle
      define(‘DATABASE_HOST’,‘’);
      define(‘DATABASE_NAME’,‘fog’);
      define(‘DATABASE_USERNAME’,‘’);
      define(‘DATABASE_PASSWORD’,“”);

      When I look at the disk that Mysql is installed on, it has 70gb left, so I don’t believe it’s a space issue. However, when logged in as a non-priviledged user and I attempt to restart mysql, I recieve

      df: ‘/var/lib/mysql/.’: Permission Denied

      • /etc/init.d/mysql: ERROR: The partition with /var/lib/mysql is too full!

      Any ideas?

    • RE: Fog server with isolated Lan but able to still join domain

      @Wayne-Workman

      This is what I’ve done 99% of the time. However, this client routinely needs to image 300+ devices in a short amount of time. Unicast works well, but being able to do 40+ in one go would save hours of man time.

    • Fog server with isolated Lan but able to still join domain

      Forgive spelling errors on mobile.

      I’m helping a company locally to setup fog. Sadly, their network doesn’t support multicast. Ideally I’d like to be able to multicast images. My idea was to setup a fog server that’d host dhcp and image into a cheap managed switch for multicast. Ideally then I’d also setup a way to have the fog server be the ‘gateway’ for the imaged clients to join the domain via the fog client.

      Is this possible, or have I completely failed at explanation.
