Thanks Tom!
Didn’t know about that option…
I’m looking at this error in the picture that I originally posted…
“/usr/share/fog/lib/funcs.sh: line 84: 2484 Segmentation fault”
I assume that this is what is causing the failure.
As for the “Published Kernels” I believe that the last time I successfully pushed out an image was pre- April 27th.
I tried to knock the kernel back down to March 30th version 3.14.0 and I get “Error: Download failed: filesize = 0”.
Updating the kernel to the newest version has fixed nothing…
It seems like this is the same version that I already had.
I have and it passes fine.
I’m getting the same result on every machine I’ve tested. …and ever machine worked fine on 0.33b.
They are all Optiplex 7010 model.
Core i5
8GB RAM
I built this image on these machines…
Also, all of this text only shows for about 1-2 seconds before restarting. I had to take a video, then pause and screen shot to get the picture to post.
I’ve been using this same image all throughout testing 0.33b and now I’m getting this error(see attached picture) when attempting to push the image to a machine. I’ve pushed this image successfully to over 40 machines, in the past few months.
What could be the issue?

I’m having an issue when attempting to add a new host from the ipxe menu. No matter if I use the quick or full host registration, right before reboot, I see a message that says “No host registration found for MAC address…”. The system then reboots and back at the ipxe menu, it still says that the host doesn’t exist. I log into the fog console and tried to manually setup the host. The console says “Host Added”, but when I view the host list, the machine isn’t listed…
Any ideas?
I’m assuming that I would be running those commands in the MySQL interface…
But, how do I log into it remotely?
I’m using Putty, and every time I try to run MySQL, it gives me Access Denied.
I don’t understand how that would be possible. I upgraded it the exact same way that I did my main FOG server here.
So, if somehow the version is set to 0, how do I fix it?
See the attached image…
I’m getting this error when updating to 1.0.1 and running the Schema update. I have this FOG server running at one of my other branch locations, and hasn’t been updated since early April (17th) I believe. What you see is only a couple of the errors. You can see the scroll bar on the side of the page indicating there are quite a few more.
What can be done to fix this?

Ok. I like the bleeding edge!
I was just unsure if the “fog_0.33b” folder in subversion was going to change.
I’ll try that shortly…
I also tried to start the apache 2 service manually, and this is what I get:
administrator@FOG:/opt/svn_fog/fog_0.33b/bin$ sudo service apache2 start
I then looked in “/usr/lib/apache2/modules/” directory, and I see a similar file called “libphp5filter.so”…
Hi Guys! It’s been quite a while since I posted anything… I’ve been SUPER busy with other work upgrades!
Anyway, I finally got around to updating my FOG install. I went through my normal update procedures through svn update, and everything seemed normal. I ran “sudo ./installfog.sh”, and all was running fine until I got to:
“* Setting up and starting Apache Web Server…Failed!”
I checked “/var/log/apache2/error.log” and this is all that it says:
[Tue May 13 10:18:56 2014] [notice] caught SIGTERM, shutting down
[Tue May 13 10:19:09 2014] [notice] Apache/2.2.22 (Ubuntu) PHP/5.3.10-1ubuntu3.11 with Suhosin-Patch configured – resuming normal operations
[Tue May 13 10:19:48 2014] [notice] caught SIGTERM, shutting down
I haven’t seen anything on the forums describing this issue… has anyone else experienced this?
[quote=“erod20, post: 24928, member: 23205”]The ssd is in SATA port one and the 1TB is in port two. I have a DVD drive in port zero.[/quote]
Personally, i’ve always put my boot drive on sata port 0, then data drive on sata 1 and dvd on sata 2. Try moving them around…
I have around 170 machines in my office, and I’m using 0.33b in production. The core functionality of FOG is sound. Really, the only tweaking that is taking place now, is mainly UI and a few “other things”… <—Insert Tom “programming jibberish”
I haven’t seen any changes being made that have compromised the usability of FOG for it’s intended purpose though.
Hope that helps!
Thanks, Tom! Big help!! My image names are really long, and they usually take up 2-3 lines of space. So, having the shading helps me in telling where one image name ends and the other begins…
I would like to request the addition of some shading to the alternate rows while in list view. I find it hard to see a definite defining line between each row.
