@Sebastian-Roth Exactly , in the web UI , hosts with SATA SDD’s , are acknowledged …hosts with NVMe SSD > not 😐
The same Motherboard , if i attache SATA SSD and do a HW Inventory, it works fine …but if i attached the NVME M.2 SSD > the Hard Disk is BLANK just like in the attached images

      update your kernel

I did this, manual update the kernel, restart the FOG Server, inventoried another Gigabyte MB with NVMe but no luck…

    • Host Hardware Inventory - Hard Disk Model - M.2 Nvme not identify

      Hello Dear Community
I have an 1.5.9 version of FOG , with bzImage Version: 5.15.19 and bzImage32 Version: 5.15.19
The issue that i’m facing is for the newest models of Mother Boards for the Hardware Inventory :

      • System Manufacturer > ASUS
      • System Product > System Product Name
      • Hard Disk Model > (BLANK)

      Also for the :

      • System Manufacturer > Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd.
      • System Product > H510M S2H V2 / H510M H / H410M H V3 / H610M H DDR4
      • Hard Disk Model > (BLANK)

I have no problem deploying the UEFI W10x64 image…but :
…basically any MB with Intel 11th and 12th gen CPU and M.2 nVme , FOG can’t detect the Hard Disk Model
Is there any way to make this work ?
I have around 350 hosts 😞 with DELL PC…and im planing to upgrade them…and it would be nice to know exactly what Storage Model is on what host…

    • installation of the proof of purchase failed 0xc004f050

      Hy guys .
Like some of you, I use FOG to image multiple PCs in different locations
It helped me a lot to activate windows on each separate host, each with its own key … but:
I recently checked a host (had other issues but searched in the event viewer) and found this error:
“installation of the proof of purchase failed 0xc004f050”
… although the host appears to be activated with a digital license … seeing this, I would say “everything is ok” … but if i copy-paste the activation key from FOG for that host and enter it manually in the activation windows… only then it appears to me that the key is ok and to activate windows.
My opinion is that FOG does not carry “the job to the end” … installs the windows key but does not activate it online to obtain that “proof of purchase”
Do you have any other ideas? 🙂 … where do i have look for this problem ? (in FOG or in Windows) I would be interested in an automatic solution… just enter the host key in FOG and after deploy all the magic will happen alone
      … sorry for my spelling.

    • RE: Storage Node Disk not showing

Please explain at least how the information from Storage Node reaches Master Storage? There is a “push” from Storage Node to Master Storage, or a “pull” made my Storage Master to Node Storage ?

    • RE: Storage Node Disk not showing

In the output we see that most space is being used by /home. Probably someone made a mistake when setting up the partitions in the initial Linux install.

I don’t understand what this has to do … even if the storage space installation is wrong … it had to report something, BTW the space in / home I think is big enough, I understand it would have been a problem if it was smaller.
The images folder is a soft link to / home / fogproject / images
“who” handles this reporting of space from Storage Node to Master Node?

    • Storage Node Disk not showing

Re: Storage node Disk Usage not showing full disk
      Hello guys
      I have a similar problem:
I have an FOG server installed as Master Node + 4 Storage Nodes
The problem is that one of the Storage Nodes does not display my capacity correctly and what space is free / occupied
FOG Master Node is version 1.5.9
And Storage Nodes are varied between 1.5.9 and 1.5.8
I also checked the box to show the Graph … and still nothing …
I want to specify that I tested a PC from that location of the Storage node and I also have a small problem there … I attach images ( p.s. firewall is down from tat location where the Storage Node is instaled)

    • Location Plugin Not Working as it should ...

      CentOS7
      FOG 1.5.8
      1 master + 1 storage node

Is threre a “quick fix” to repair the location plugin ?
At first, I used a single Master Node, but later I added 2 Storage Nodes. I installed and activated the locations plugin .
But something is not right … because wen i assign a location in the default group , and pressed ADD, the mesage is “Location added” everything is ok … but when I went back … … the respective location had no storage group and no storage node assigned.
I uninstalled the plugin and I reinstalled it … the first location is saved normally … the next locations that I add,no longer appear in the list of locations … as if writing one over the other … if I add location 2 … click on ADD … I can see it in the list … if I add location 3 … click add … in the list the location 2 disappears and the location 3 appears 😐
Oh…and…if i export and import the locations…wen import it only takes the last location in the list…even if the exported file is the same on from it self …
What to do ? What to do ?

    • RE: Interface not ready, waiting for it to come up

i had the same problem with replication serice. My fix for centos7 :

      code_text
      systemctl restart FOGImageReplicator
      systemctl status FOGImageReplicator

Of course u have to change the "FOGImageReplicator" to whatever service is bugging you and then check it out with

      tail -f /var/log/fog/log/fogreplicator.log

    • RE: Reconfigure FOG Client Service to talk to different FOG server

Hy , first of all i had the same problem, wel actualy similar ,i use 2 fog servers , one for windows XP (with an old fog ) and antoher for W10 (FOG 1.5.8), therfor i had to redirect the pxe boot for each host.
fix 1 : may sugest that u don’t instal the fog service in the “default” windows image at all…this way , after u deploy the image, u can asign each host to the desire FOG server when u setup the “SmartInstaller” with the fog service
fix 2 : i’v manage to change the FOG server that hosts respond to by editing the “settings.json” from “C:\Program Files (x86)\FOG” …the only problem with this is that i had to click the “reset encription data” from FOG Web manager, of that peculiar host ( and other host’s iv changed from 1 server to another)
In case u wonder why i use 2 fog and why i use windows xp…the company that i work in has around 1700 hosts 🙂 and old software that work only on win xp
