Okay. YOu are using a newer version of php 5.3 and have no problem with starting tasks, because you say you can already starting the upload of a image.

You had no problems on installation? At the moment I find only this, about a problem with a variable, who Kevin mentions. I don’t know if that helps you.

Which fog version are you using? Fog 0.32 or fog 0.33B?

I use VirtualBox for testing and there I have no UEFI activated. The only thing that I do is, I clean the disk with gparted, removing all partitions.

I Hey,

I updated to revision 1205 and tested the deploy of the (new uploaded) image again. The init.gz has been replaced. Fog shows me
Listing of recognized partitions:
/dev/sda1 (C: partition), /dev/sda2 (extended partition, contains /dev/sda5 and /dev/sda6)
Partlcone starts and then it exits with “error exit” for both partitions and fog shows me again "no such file or directory /dev/sda1.
Starting the task again, partclone and fogs then works fine.

Do you think it would help to reinstall ubuntu?

After you trying to upload the image, the system doesn’t boot anymore? Wich “image type” are you trying and does your sytem that you want to upload, have more than one partition?

I deleted the init.gz from /tftpboot/fog/images/ directory and placed there your init.gz. Same problem 😕.
I am now away, see you later
Alright,

Found the issue. Needed to wipe out the MBR/GPT structures which is now implemented.
r1194 released should correct this issue.

Thank you,
I updated to new revision, same problem. After starting the task again, all works fine then.

I tested it again and maked a screenshoot and there I see /dev/sda1. How I wrote in my post number 830, something goes wrong at the first time, but after starting the deploy again. Partclone and fog then works fine.
Does it specify the error at all?
Partclone shows only “error exit”, but directly after partclone exits, I saw that “error: /dev/sda1 no such file or directory”. I booted then into debug mode with fog and executed “fdisk -l”. It lists me /dev/sda1 with system HPFS/NTFS/exFat.
Looks like that the partitions are not there at the moment, where partlcone tries to deploy the image.

Edit:
Forgot to mention that at upload, fog shows me something with “unary operator expected” in file fog.upload at line 258, 262, 266.

Tom,

Are there still problems with deplopying a windows 7 image with image type “Multiple Partition Image - Single Disk”?
I deployed a uploaded window 7 image with 2 partitons (system reserved and system partition) to a pc with a clean hard disk. Partclone exits at the first time with only the message “error exit”, after I started the task again, partlcone succesfully deployed the image to the pc.

I used revision 1192.

Hey Tom,

Updated to new revision and tested windows xp upload/download (single partition). After I downloaded the image to the client and started the os I get a blue screen something with unmountable boot volume.
The upload with the newest revision works fine but something goes wrong with the download. I switched to a older revision and the download and starting the os works fine, looks like that the error occurs with revision 1142 and newer.

Good luck by finding and fixing the problem,
Lukas

Hello,
I get an error about firmware for nic driver, something with bnx2 firmware couldn’t be load. I tried now to build a new kernel and get this error:
MK_FW firmware/bnx2/bnx2-mips-09-6.2.1b.fw.gen.S
make[1]: *** No rule to make target linux-firmware/bnx2/bnx2-mips-09-6.2.1b.fw', needed by firmware/bnx2/bnx2-mips-09-6.2.1b.fw.gen.o’. Stop.
make: *** [firmware] Error 2
Any ideas?

@Michael Dutcher the bzImage file is located in /tftpboot/fog/kernel directory, rename the file there and copy the new file into that directory, remember you need to have the permission to do changes there.

• RE: Latest FOG 0.33b
Cannot start upload. Running the latest beta on Centos 6.5 (fresh install) for testing, I have registered a client (Full host registration). The host displays correct in FOG.

I then create a new Image (Win XP, Single Partition, resizable). I edit the host client to associate it with this image and then start a new Upload task from Task Management. I hit Upload icon and nothing happens (as expected, verifying).

Any idea?

I have been using FOG since the early days and this is my first try with the new 0.33B release. Keep up the good work!
Yes the upload button in Active Tasks, donest work. Try it over this way: Host Management -> List All Hosts -> Click Upload button from your host
Over this way it it works on my side.

• RE: Fog unrecognized service

Hello!

This is wrong written “isc-dchp-server”, change it to isc-dhcp-server and - as delimiter doesn’t work. You can use this to start boths services:
sudo service isc-dhcp-server start ; sudo service tftpd-hpa start

Good luck,

Tested the new revision, get an error from fog service, that the file size is zero.
In file snapins.file.php on line 53 is not given the full path to the file in filesize. After fixing that, the snapin could be downloaded.
Another problem now, the task for the snapin is not get remoed after the installation has finished, means the fog service download/runs the file after it finished again.
