    What can i do?

I have this problem with any system, from notebook to workstation and vm’s.
I was coming from RC6, i had installed any single release from the last days.

Has something changed with the ipxe.efi?

    Regards X23

It’s all working again, i had to readd the vendor filter in the dhcp options. That was gone after removing the DHCP and readding it to the server, these options were not covered by our backup. @george1421 thank you for making my mind think, it was your post bringing me back to road πŸ˜‰

Web GUI issue? Please check apache error (debian/ubuntu: /var/log/apache2/error.log, centos/fedora/rhel: /var/log/httpd/error_log) and php-fpm log (/var/log/php*-fpm.log)

Solved for now, i changed from ipxe.efi to undionly.pxe, yesterday we had dhcp issues and my collegue removed dhcp and readded it i think he restored old settings for dhcp option 67.

It a shame i must say i dont know the differences between the different boot files 😞

Am i forced to boot efi when using ipxe.efi?

          Regards X23

@x23piracy UEFI can only boot .efi files

            Legacy cannot boot .efi

Undionly uses the builtin network stack of the card itself to work and is thus the smallest of the bootfiles. ipxe files (or intel, realtek) include drivers (with ipxe including basically all of them), which is sometimes necessary for certain cards/configurations. Of course, this means ipxe files are generally the biggest.

@x23piracy So I guess I need to ask the question, what DHCP server are you using? Is it MS DHCP on 2012 or newer?

@x23piracy FWIW: There is a wiki page that describes how to configure Windows 2012 DHCP to dynamically switch between bios (legacy) and uefi boot kernels based on the target system booting: https://wiki.fogproject.org/wiki/index.php?title=BIOS_and_UEFI_Co-Existence

It may make you life a little easier when you have to manage both system types.
