i had legacy client installed on this workstation and i have removed them prior to installing the new smartinstaller.
I have also tried deleting all the possible entry under programfile x86.

Error message “Please uninstall the legacy client and re-run this installer”

My environment is windows 10 enterprise edition x64.

    Thanks!

I have tried following this other thread but no success. I cant find the registry entry

I also ran registry scanner using ccleaner, but no cigar.

i fixed this using REVO Uninstaller.

        steps
        *Installed the legacy client again
*uninstall software from within REVO Uninstaller
        *Install new client
        *success!

We need a better mechanism for uninstalling the legacy client. Specifically, the new fog client checks for a specific registry key to see if the legacy client is “present” or not. I suppose an msiexec command to uninstall the old one is in order, plus a manual deletion of the key via a batch script.

This issue only appears to happen on windows 10 installations. It would seem the legacy client uninstaller is not fully compatible (of sorts) with windows 10.
