After upgrading to FOG 1.3.0-RC-4 I am seeing the following errors on imaged computers. I have tried resetting encryption data for the hosts but no change. Apache2 logs are filled with the error message below.

    Suggestions, support appreciated. Thanks,

    Joe

I’m not entirely sure that apache error was caused by this. The timestamp on the error says 1:20 PM and the timestamps in the fog log are from 11:54 AM.

It looks like the apache error is from trying to list members of a group, or listing groups. Who is 192.168.35.155 ?

If no .net, what if you install .net 4.0?

Web GUI issue? Please check apache error (debian/ubuntu: /var/log/apache2/error.log, centos/fedora/rhel: /var/log/httpd/error_log) and php-fpm log (/var/log/php*-fpm.log)

@Tom-Elliott I don’t think it can even be installed on anything that doesn’t have 4.0 or higher. I think I tried with Win7 when the smart installer came out - and it didn’t work, and I said screw it because it works out-of-box with Win10 with nothing additional installed - and we were going to 100% windows 10.

Did you restart after installing .NET?

@Bob-Henderson said in "Unable to get subsection" error with RC-4:

Also getting this same issue, Windows 10, RC-4 with client 0.11.3

All hosts operating under RC-4 should have 0.11.4, and anything older should auto-update.

Alright, here’s a chunk of the log, as it’s too long to post here in it’s entirety. Note, this image was originally captured on 8533. The server has been updated to RC-4 since then.

@Bob-Henderson Do me a favor (and hopefully yourself) and run “Reset Encryption Data” on the hosts giving this issue?

Web GUI issue? Please check apache error (debian/ubuntu: /var/log/apache2/error.log, centos/fedora/rhel: /var/log/httpd/error_log) and php-fpm log (/var/log/php*-fpm.log)

@Bob-Henderson Did it cycle back over in the log and you’re still seeing the same issue?

Can you post a log of the host you just reset encryption data on?

                                @Tom-Elliott

looks like I needed to just give it a moment. I went down to take a look at it again, and it had joined the domain and all was hunky dory. I just reset the encryption on the other host that was giving me the same issue, and it joined right up as well.

Now, is there any way to not have to reset the encryption per host manually? I’m looking at 700 hosts to image out, and while it’s doable, it’ll be…tedious.

@Bob-Henderson You can reset data to all hosts through groups.

I don’t know why it’s not getting the right codes. That I need to work with @joe-schmitt as I’m pretty sure we have code in place to prevent this issue.

@Bob-Henderson I have a group setup with all hosts in it and hit reset encryption there is I need to do for all. It is a quick and dirty way to do it.

@Psycholiquid Just did the exact same thing, and pushed out an image multicast to 46 devices in 13 minutes, from start to being able to login.

                                        best. Feeling. Ever.
