New host registration issues..

I’m having some problems with new host registration on version 1.2.0. Neither “quick” or “full” actually works when initiated on the client side. Both of those options terminate with an error that indicates that there’s no host entry matching the MAC. If i try to manually create a host in the web UI, I see a confirmation that creation was successful and there are no errors/failures in the mysql general query log. However, if I choose the list all hosts option the entry that I just created isn’t there. Can someone help me figure this out?

What, exact, version of FOG are you running? Are you using the stable 1.2.0 or a newer version?

1.2.0 stable from here

@Carl 1.2.0 is coming up on two years old. You’re probably trying to image pretty new hardware. It’s probably simply the old kernel doesn’t support that new hardware. You can try to update the kernel to a more recent one via FOG Configuration -> Kernel update or you can upgrade to fog trunk.

I can accept that the kernel image may have some relevance as far as the client side issues. But, what about the problems in the GUI with creating a new host?
Also, where can I find the information on how to upgrade to the trunk version? I have some old information here but, that’s probably well out of date.

Here:

Centos 6.8

Ok. I’ve upgraded to the latest trunk. Now, I can login to the GUI but cannot go anywhere within the GUI except for the home page. /var/log/httpd/error_log is constantly spewing…
" PHP Warning: ftp_login(): Login incorrect. in /var/www/html/fog/lib/fog/fogftp.class.php on line 107"```

ok great. I can now navigate the UI but now I see…
BFD: /var/www/html/fog/service/ipxe/bzImage: Warning: Ignoring section flag IMAGE_SCN_MEM_NOT_PAGED in section .bss
in the same error log. I assume this can be ignored?

good. one last thing…i hope. if i go into a host and try to modify the image that is associated with that host i get a confirmation that the operation was successful. then, if i navigate to another place in the UI and return back to see the image association, it looks as though a change was never made. i have tried clearing browser caches, using different browsers etc. with no change.

@Carl Probably a bug. Make a new thread in bug reports about it, include any relevant apache error logs from FOG Configuration -> Log Viewer -> Apache error logs. They have timestamps.

Done. Thanks a lot for everyone who helped.

What is the bug?
