Hello guys.

We have about 1000 computers and reading the wiki about FOG Client I saw that one of its feature is the Host Registration… However, after installing the FOG Client in a Windows machine the Host Registration didn’t work…

May you help me about that?

      Thank you in advance…

@Daniel-1 You might want to open a new topic and post more details (version of FOG and fog-client used, fog.log) rather than re-opening a ten year old topic.

Please help us build the FOG community with everyone involved. It's not just about coding - way more we need people to test things, update documentation and most importantly work on uniting the community of people enjoying and working on FOG! Get in contact with me (chat bubble in the top right corner) if you want to join in.

Web GUI issue? Please check apache error (debian/ubuntu: /var/log/apache2/error.log, centos/fedora/rhel: /var/log/httpd/error_log) and php-fpm log (/var/log/php*-fpm.log)

Please support FOG if you like it: https://wiki.fogproject.org/wiki/index.php/Support_FOG

Please bring back the host registration via client after it installs. I do not have access to DHCP at my site. going to each client register makes no sense when you have 1200 computers.

If you have access to DHCP. Export data to csv and then import to FOG. Then schedule a Hardware Inventroy task in FOG.
The windows fog client no longer register’s the clients, it was removed a couple of versions ago. You have to do it manually through pxe menu or import via web console.
[S]Your post is the first I’ve heard of this. Where did you get this information? The HostRegister.dll is still included in the fog program file folder. I see no other reference to the removal of this feature.[/S]

Ok, after some digging, I see one other reference to this:
              http://fogproject.org/forum/threads/fog-client.606/#post-2753

I’d love to have this feature back. I wish I knew more about programming! Maybe I’ll change that…

Anyway, how can I help get this feature back?
              Anyone think of some work-arounds?
