Hosts Unable to Join Domain

@ITSolutions It does not this is a fresh image made strictly to test domain joining. The new client was installed after the old was removed if that makes any difference.

@herrpommesfrite That shouldn’t make a difference. If the old client was uninstalled then it shouldn’t cause any issues with the new client. Can you try changing the host name in FOG to something new, just name it “adtest”. I am just trying to rule out all possibilities.

@herrpommesfrite the user you have for joining domain should have the proper permissions to join to the domain to begin with. Is this already the case?

@Tom-Elliott also please try updating. Maybe there were extra characters passed in older versions? I don’t know but I know of it were broken if have been made well aware of it.

@herrpommesfrite I don’t know why you insist on blotting out info there. Idea to try, change the domain to the fqdn not just the Cn.

Also, the password field should be entered plain text and saved. It will encrypt it for you.

@Tom-Elliott so its working now, I may have had some weird client issues going on, there were 2 instances of the client running one at 9.11 and one at 9.12.
I appreciate all of your help and sorry for any confusion/frustration i may have caused. -

@Wayne-Workman Maybe they weren’t running but the were both installed and the fog tray wasn’t running. I uninstalled both of them and then reinstalled the new client and it worked.

@herrpommesfrite The only way both versions could be “installed” at once is if v0.9.12 was installed first and then later someone / GPO installed v0.9.11 .

This same error is happening at one of our sites. We have two sites on 7945, one can join it’s domain, the other can’t.
