Select Multiple Snapins
-
A way to select multiple snapins instead of one or all would be a great addition.
-
For tasking?
-
That sounds really overly complicated to implement… and I’m not even a fog dev. I have programming experience and thinking about how one would make that work for all scenarios would be rough.
Why couldn’t you craft a single snapin that does all the things you want?
My vote is to leave snapins as they are. Respectively.
-
My example would be this…
I have 5 snapins, I would like to be able to basically select 3 of them (checkmark boxes or multiple select dropdown) and choose to deploy those 3 rather than all 5 of the assigned snapins.
-
@fud18 Perhaps snapin groups? and you could assign a single snapin - or a snapin group to a host?
I think groups would be the easiest way to approach this.

@Wayne-Workman I like the idea of snapin groups, but I’m not sure how it could be applied to tasking.

Well, the group would be “applied” but the group wouldn’t show up in “Task Management”, instead each individual snapin would show.
it’d just involve a loop somewhere internally to do a “single snapin task” for each snapin in the group - to each host the group is applied to… or a group of hosts…
I’m not sure how or where that would be done because I’m not familiar with FOG’s web code.
