Do you have UEFI turned on for that machine? It’s a firmware setting.
can either operate in BIOS mode or UEFI mode.
-
I do not
-
Then, does the machine you took the image from have UEFI turned on?
-
Maybe even try switching the network ports that these two machines are connected to… see if that makes a difference. If it does, it’s network related…
-
No and enabling UEFI had no affect
-
Switched ports with working device, no change.
-
Maybe try to delete this host from the DB altogether and then re-register and try again.
Why do you need to image this machine?? Weird unexplained problems?
Lastly, Maybe it has failing hardware… NIC, or Motherboard, maybe even Power Supply… Try to re-seat the RAM, the Video Card?? Test the power supply?
try to put a network card in it to see if there is a difference?
-
Failing drive by chance?
I am aware of the difference between the two, I don’t believe that is the issue however. Same machine wont download image either, swapped out the HDD still wont download?
The machine is going to function as my backup mail server. I wanted to take an image of it as a backup. I will check the hardware to see if it makes any difference.

Have you looked in the “Working Hardware” & “Problematic Hardware” lists for your model?
It’s so strange… I think it’s a hardware issue because you said this works on another system of the exact same model… and you’ve toggled off/on UEFI, and you’ve swapped out harddrives… it really points to a hardware issue…
Maybe a bad patch cable? Bad port on your switch? Maybe even bad config on that particular port?
-
As Wayne pointed out earlier I fail to detail read sometimes. But just in case this wasn’t covered, are the two different machines (working one and not) running the same BIOS/firmware versions? One BIOS revision can make a world of difference.
-
I am going to chalk this up to hardware issues on the machine in question as it blue screened on me today. Thanks for all of your help guys.
-
I was unaware of the lists you mentioned Wayne, where would I find those for future reference?
