Partclone clone: open /dev/sda1 error when uploading image
just trialing FOG for a customer everything seem to be setup, just can;t upload an image from Any PCs. process starts in PXe boot fine
Gets to partclone;
Starting to clone device (dev/sda1) to image (/tmp/pigz1)
Clone:o open /dev/sda1 error
Reboots shortly afterwards. Any idea what the issue is?
I am very sorry, please ignore my second question. Must’ve been late or something… I got things mixed up (still one of the new guys in the dev team). Partclone is perfectly fine.
Somehow this sounds like it could be a similar issue to the one that got me started to engage in this forum. See here: http://fogproject.org/forum/threads/kernel-temporarily-loosing-partition-information-when-running-partprobe.12276/
Please run an upload debug task (Client -> Basic Tasks -> Upload Debug) and pay close attention to unusual things on the screen. Probably best to take pictures so that we can have a look if and where things go wrong.
Might those ‘other’ computers have UEFI based booting?
If so, you’re problems are not over…
We will be here.
Ignore this found it was the client at fault tried a laptop worked perfectly!
Just installed so it started up using partclone, I did not know there was an alternative. So should it be using partimage instead? If so how do I set that up.
Uploaded screenshot of error and install log file. Let me know where I have gone wrong. Thanks, G
Please post the installation log.
Which version of FOG is installed?? Why partclone not partimage? Could you please take a picture when this happens so we see exactly what’s going on.
